Overview
For businesses, Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become one of the vital key
players that the firm should encompass. It has become an integral part of the company’s
activities ever since the twentieth century. CSR means that companies take responsibility for the
impact of their (business) activities on society. Simply, a business should find the balance
between the three P’s: People, Planet, and Profit.
With the current circumstances that our environment faces, it is at utmost priority to
establish and craft a Social Responsibility that would create an impact to the community. As
what they have said, a business cannot be considered as a successful one if it environment where
it is located is not growing. Hence, with the growth of the company, a growth of its environment
should also be evident.
With that, in this workshop and with this training module the needs of crafting a
Corporate Social Responsibility will be greatly emphasized. This will promote essential
learnings within the business environment. It will also strengthen management skills as well as
re-evaluating business activities and improving the flow of business transactions and
undertakings. This event will be a big contribution for the development of the participants’ skills
and strategies as aspiring business professionals. The event aims to also prepare them for the
changing characteristic of the marketing environment. They will be taught different strategies on
how to cope and overcome such changes and still succeed in their chosen field.
This workshop will be a 2-day seminar and workshop that will take place in Gazebo
Royale, Visayas Ave., Quezon City this May 18, 2020- 9:00 AM till 4 PM.
Goals and Objectives
 Develop a clear understanding of corporate social responsibility
 Hear about local and international trends in CSR.
 Explore the key CSR drivers internationally
 Learn about the business case for CSR and how it benefits a company.
 To align the company’s CSR with the business goals and objectives.
 To teach both new and seasoned marketers who need to stay updated on emerging trends.
 To provide participants with simple yet powerful strategies and skills that may be use on
their future career.
 To develop the skills and understanding in adopting advance technology
Discussion
With the commitment to the protection of environment, to the business processes and to
major international agreements on labor law, human rights and others. This course is being
suggested as one way to attain a comprehensive CSR understanding. Such an understanding will
enable members to design and to implement an effective CSR strategy for each sector and for the
industry as a whole.
Amongst the topics to be discussed are the following:
 Creation and crafting of outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility

 Selected Articles from UN Ministerial Declarations and ECOSOC documentation;
HBR “Green Business” collection.
 Ethics and Governance: Developing and Maintaining an Ethical Corporate
Culture 3rd edition (Leonard J. Brooks and David Selley); Transparency
International documents; unpan.org and other relevant web sites

 Integrating CSR into strategic planning and into regular business practices
Pre-reading:
 Understanding context; International Protocols (Equator Principles, Kyoto);
Measurement and Certification; Green Tactics; Consumer Interests

 Gaining insights into the fundamentals of measuring and reporting on CSR
