COMPANY BACKGROUND

The name for our company is Smoothies. Smoothies is a partnership company which
founded by Eng Kong, Ai Wei and Yuan Li. Smoothies was located inside the Changlun
mart. Smoothies is a product and services oriented business. Smoothies is primarily
aimed to provide variety choices of bubble tea. In additions, Smoothies is providing a
good service and high-quality products to the customers. Moreover, our main target
market is those customers in the age of 14-30 years old.
Industry Background

The Beverage Industry is a mature sector and includes companies that market non-
alcoholic and alcoholic items. Since growth opportunities are few compared to existing
business, many members of the industry innovate to diversify their offerings to better
compete and gain share. Our company has decided to involve in beverage industry,
selling variety kind of drinks. They are under the categories of tea, coco, coffee,
smoothies, matcha, fruit tea, and sparkling juice. There are some outlets selling the
almost-similar beverage as ours, like Tealive, Startbucks, Coffeebean, and Royaltea.
They are well-known beverage companies which spread over the world. They have a
wide range of customers and followers. Their beverages are high in quality and price. In
order to compete with them, our company’s product has to cheap in price but high in
quality.

Product/ Service Concept

Youngsters nowadays like to purchase drinks which have different variety of flavours.
They are not interested in having drinks like normal coffee or tea but new-invented drinks
by merging two of them together to become a new kind of beverage. By investigating
their favourites, we are able to target more customers to increase the popularity of our
company.

Business Process

We will take order from customer and receive the payment before make their drinks.
After payment we will give a number to customer which represent the drink. We will
blending the ice and flavour together. After blended, we will put the drink at the sealing
machine to seal it with colourful plastic with our logo. After done we will call the number
that shown at the cup.

MARKET OPPORTUNITY

A. Target customer
Those in the age of 14-30 years old, who likes to purchase bubble tea as their thirst
quenching drinks.
B. Products
Variety choices of bubble milk tea.
C. Price
Reasonable and affordable price, which is in the range of RM5.00 to RM8.00.
D. Place
We set up our business inside the Changlun mart due to the population of our
targeted customer is high and there is high demand of bubble tea around Changlun
area.
E. Promotion
We will provide 10 percent discount for children and student. In public holiday,
we will offer the promotion of buy 3 free 1.

Estimated Project Cost

Our capital is come from self-funding. As a corporation, Ai wei and Yuan Li decide to
invest RM5000 in business while Eng Kong invest RM10000 in the business. We plan to
rent a shop at Changlun mart to start our business because rental cost is cheaper. The
rental fee is RM1000 per month. Cost for buy the 3 blender and one sealing machine are
RM8000.
