Hire a Dean of Students- A dean of students with the
focus on the selection of behavior mentors as well as

Amount of Referrals by Month

Targeted Behavior Intervention- Staff members were given
additional support in the classroom to help monitor student
behavior. If the student had minor classroom infractions that
could not be managed in the classroom, the behavior mentor
was able to have individual meetings with the student. The goal
of the Behavior Mentor is to help students self-regulate and
manage behavioral choices to increase the amount of time
instructional time in the classroom.
Standard Operating Procedures - Student and Staff will took
part in a Standard Operating Procedure Protocol that was
provided by Marzano. The 7th Grade team implemented the
SOPs and created visuals and flow charts to monitor the SOPs
with with the use of the online platform of Plickers. Throughout
the time the SOPs were re-evaluated for effectiveness.
. 7th Grade showed an average increase of five percent
Classroom Management Professional Development-Staff to
part in a multi session classroom management training with the
use of Harry Wong’s first day of school text. Designated staff
received additional coaching from myself and 2 additional
coaches. Staff took part in Student Support Meetings.

REFLECTION
One of the major concepts that continued to repeat itself was the
level of support that both the students and the staff felt. The
effectiveness of the support varied based on the level of training
that the behavior mentor had received. To increase the value of
this program the selection of the individuals and Professional
Development need to be expanded to meet the needs of the
students and staff. I do feel that this trend would have continued
if the school year had not been interupted by school cancelation.
