Welcome!

We are excited to have you join our Association and look forward to serving you in
the coming year. NAMAR has a lot to offer you. We are the second largest REALTOR®
Board in the state of Georgia which allows our organization a voice to be heard on local, state
and national levels.

Now that you have joined the board, if you have not taken Orientation/Code of Ethics, you have
90 days to take the course offered by NAMAR. This is mandated by The National Association
of REALTORS®. The reasoning behind this requirement is so that the association can govern
any code of ethics violation. The class is offered the first Wednesday of every other month.
Classes fill up fast so do not wait until the last minute to register. Register today at
www.namar.org. You will need to renew your Code of Ethics within every Quadrennial Period
set forth by NAR.

You should start to receive REALTOR Magazine in about two months. (NAR prints labels 2
months prior to issue.) GA REALTOR Magazine is released digitally bi-monthly (January,
March, May, July, September and November). You can find a link on the GAR home page —
www.garealtor.com. The May and September issues will be printed and mailed to all members.

Attached is your membership card along with important information about your membership
and ways to become involved. This is your Association, please take advantage of it and become
involved.

Please make sure that you keep us updated on email and residential addresses. You may update
information on our website at www.namar.org. Event announcements, legislature information
and association news are broadcast to all members. Most all of our correspondence is done
through email.

Please take a moment to review the information. Again, we look forward to serving you.
Optimizing Your REALTOR® Productivity and Profitability is our goal.

Sincerely,

Tom O'Rourke
Executive Vice President

What You Need To Know:
The Difference Between A Licensed Real Estate Agent
and A Professional REALTOR®
Although both licensed real estate agents and professional REALTORS® may buy
and sell homes, there are significant differences.

A REALTOR® is a member of the largest trade association in the world, The

National Association of REALTORS®, the local state association and a local
Board. As a member, the REALTOR® is required to abide by a National Code of
Ethics. The Boards are required to police their own by conducting ethics hearings
and arbitrations. The Boards are required to help create and maintain an ethical
business climate.

A REALTOR® has access to state of the art technology allowing them to assist
customers and clients in their search for the ideal home, thereby saving them time,
travel and money.

REALTOR® Boards, on a local level, provide education, professional standards

procedures, networking opportunities, community services projects, exposure to
affiliate members, such as professional mortgage providers, appraiser, etc. They
provide a resource center for research purposes to help the agent provide the best
competitive marketing analysis, tax information and community information.

For more people, buying a home is the single most important purchase in their
lives. To make this a safe and pleasant transaction, contact a REALTOR® -- a
professional!
