What HDR does it look like?
HDR Explained
• HDR is short for High Dynamic Range
• Lightest and darkest areas combined which adds an
incredible amount of detail to an image
• Surreal images
• Mostly landscapes and street photography.
• Can be used on portraits to show age, texture and
detail – however they must stay incredibly still!

dynamic-range.htm
Overall Process
1. Using a TRIPOD take at least 3 different images at
different exposures – do not move the camera!
2. Using either photoshop, Photomatix or Lightroom
combine the images to create a HDR image
3. Photoshop process = File > Automate > Merge to
HDR Pro
Shooting process
• Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB)
is the main component in
creating an HDR image.
– "Expo.comp./AEB. On camera
menu screen"
• Bracketing is the term used to
describe taking multiple
exposures of a scene
• a bracketed sequence of
exposures listed like this: -2, 0,
