1. INTRODUCTION

1-1. INTRODUCTION
NPM-40 can be used for all kind of chemical tankers as well as crude oil tankers.
The specification of the machine can be selected based on pump capacity, machine quantity operated
simultaneously, related standard, the kind of cargo, etc with general information of cargo tank such as
dimension and shape.
TANKTECH can provide crude oil washing manual and shadow diagram.

1-2. OPERATION
The body of NPM-40 rotates on the vertical axis and the nozzles
rotate on the horizontal axis by driving force generated by stream of
the cleaning media.
As the result, the grid pattern traces are generated on the walls of
tank.
The tank cleaning operation of NPM-40 consists of cycle patterns as
shown in the below figure.
The whole cleaning area of cargo tank is covered by 4 cycles.

1-1. Maintenance and repair method for inlet

Inspect the inside of the Hose Connector (KA010004) or the Connector (KC010004) and the Water

Guide (KA010006).

If there is any foreign substance, disassemble the Hose Connector (KA010004) or the Connector

(KC010004) and the Water Guide (KA010006) from the Body (KA010001) by loosening the Wrench Bolt

(KB010221) and clean it.

1-2. Maintenance and repair method for outlet

Disassemble a couple of the Nozzle (KA010017) and inspect the inside of the Stream Partition

(KC020171).

If there is any foreign substance, clean the inside of the Nozzle (KA010017). Especially clean the inside

of the Stream Partition (KC020171) with care.

Pay attention not to damage the inside of the outlet of the Nozzle (KA010017).

After inspection and cleaning, reassemble a couple of the Nozzle (KA010017).

1-3. Maintenance and repair method for gear assembly

Loosen six Wrench Bolts (KB010222) of the Bottom Cover (KA010002) and disassemble the Gear part

from the Body (KA010001), and inspect.

If there is any foreign substance, clean it as it is.

It is unnecessary to disassemble anymore, because all parts are open spaces.

But if there is any damage on the Gear, disassemble, correct and reassemble according to ‘4. SUB

DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY METHOD FOR GEAR ASSEMBLY.’

After inspection and cleaning, reassemble the gear part to the Body (KA010001) and tighten six wrench

bolts (KB010222).

2-1 Impeller assembly

1. Loosen six Wrench Bolts (KB010221) of the Hose Connector (KA010004) or the Connector

(KC010004).

2. Disassemble the Hose Connector (KA010004) or the Connector (KC010004).

3. Disassemble the Water Guide (KA010006).

4. Disassemble the Impeller (KA010007).

5. The reassembly sequence is reversal of the disassembly sequence.

2-2 Nozzle assembly

1. Loosen six Wrench Blots (KB010222) of the Side Cover (KC010005).

2. Disassemble complete Nozzle assembly.

3. The reassembly sequence is reversal of the disassembly sequence.

2-3 Gear assembly

1. Loosen six Wrench Blots (KB010222) of the Bottom Cover (KA010002).

2. Disassemble complete Gear assembly with Bottom Cover (KA010002).

3. The reassembly sequence is reversal of the disassembly sequence.

2-4 Body assembly


It is Body assembly after the sequences above.

6. Disassemble the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

7. Disassemble the Bush (KC030161) from the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

3-2. Reassembly

1. Reassemble the Bush (KC030161) to the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

2. Reassemble the Bevel Gear (KA010015) to the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

3. Reassemble the Bearing (KB110212) to the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

4. Reassemble the Side Cover (KC010005) to the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

5. Reassemble a couple of the Nozzle (KA010017) to the Nozzle Case (KA010016).

6. Reassemble the Side Cover (KC010005) to the Body (KA010001).

7. Reassemble the Side Cover (KC010005) to the Body (KA010001) by securing six wrench bolts

(KB010222).

4. Disassemble the Wrench Bolt (KB010222) and the Washer (KC010091) from the Spur Gear

Shaft (KC010013).

5. Disassemble the Spur Gear Shaft (KC010013).

6. Disassemble the Shaft Bush (KC010131).

7. Disassemble the Worm Gear Wheel (KC010012).

8. Disassemble the Shaft Bushes (KC030193) from the Gear Case (KA010003).

9. Loosen four Wrench Bolts (KB010222) of the Bearing Support (KC010181).

10. Disassemble the Bearing Support (KC010181).

11. Disassemble the Wrench Bolt (KB010222) and the Washer (KC010091) from the Worm Gear

(KC010011).

12. Disassemble the Worm Gear (KC010011).

3. Fasten four Wrench Bolts (KB010222) to the Bearing Support (KC010018).

4. Reassemble the Worm Gear Shaft (KC010009).

5. Reassemble the Wrench Bolt (KB010222) and the Washer (KC010092) to the Worm Gear

Shaft (KC010009).

6. Reassemble the Gear Shaft Bush (KC030193) to the Gear Case (KA010003).

7. Reassemble the Bearing (KB110213) to the Gear Case (KA010003).

8. Reassemble the Bearing Support (KC010181).

9. Fasten four Wrench Bolts (KB010222) to the Bearing Support (KC010181).

10. Reassemble the Worm Gear Wheel (KC010010).

11. Reassemble the Worm Gear (KC010011).

12. Reassemble the Wrench Bolt (KB010222) and the Washer (KC010091) to the Worm Gear

(KC010011).

13. Reassemble the Shaft Bushes (KC030193) to the Gear Case (KA010003).

14. Reassemble the Worm Gear Wheel (KC010012).

15. Reassemble the Spur Gear Shaft (KC010013).

16. Reassemble the Spur Gear Shaft (KC010013).

17. Reassemble the Shaft Bush (KC010131) to the Spur Gear Shaft (KC010013).

18. Reassemble the Wrench Bolt (KB010222) and the Washer (KC010091) to the Spur Gear

Shaft (KC010013).

19. Reassemble the Bottom Cover (KA010002) to the Gear Case (KA010003).

20. Reassemble the Bottom Cover (KA010002) and the Gear Case (KA010003) by fastening four

Wrench Bolts (KB010222).

21. Locate the Bottom Cover (KA010002) to the Body (KA010001).

22. Fasten the Bottom Cover (KA010002) to the Body (KA010001) by fastening six Wrench Bolts

(KB010222).
