To whom it may concern at the United Nations Security Council, I believe as a

concerned U.S. citizen that it should be part of the Council's long-standing goal,
along with sanctions toward Iran's government concerning Iran's production of
nuclear capabilities, that a way to control this issue further would be to have a
council meeting in regards to what I'm proposing. This proposal I believe could
bring some stability to the situation. It is that along with monitoring and
intelligence gathering, I believe it would be beneficial to set-up a country that is
designated to act as a sponsor for Countries weapons that want to get advanced
weapons systems, but are not allowed to by the UN Security Council to do this.

in regards to what I am proposing. This proposal I believe could
bring some stability to the situation. It is this, that along with
monitoring and intelligence gathering, I believe it would be
beneficial to set-up a country that is designated to act as a sponsor
for Countries weapons that want to get advanced weapons systems, but
are not allowed to by the UN Security Council to do this. By sponsor
country I mean that this country would provide the Country like Iran
to be under their protection as far as nuclear weapons are concerned.
This means that this country would keep an arsenal of nuclear weapons,
or other weapons systems for this countries protection. It would be
to protect this other countries legal, human, business, industrial,
and progressive rights. It wouldn't be for aggressive purposes, but
for the keeping of the civil peace. Any objectives which the
sponsored country felt it had for using its weapons would be discussed
as to what this purpose is about, and would basically be approached
the same way as any other country would be who felt that this type of
aggression was necessary. This would be with of course the Security
Council's meeting regarding the issues for this posture of opposition,
and with its approval. I believe all sides involved should discuss
the dynamics and issues involved so this will give the other country/
State the proposal and get their feedback and response to the idea
also as an option. I¶m writing this because I believe that this idea
and proposal could work for other developing countries to now or in
the future who may want to develop a nuclear weapon to protect their
assets, but who are under scrutiny by the UN Security Council for this
wish by the developing nation to respect their wishes for security. I
believe a country has a right to defend itself and its friends, but I
think that it has to be done in a manner that uses all options as its
modus operandi and divergent thinking to solve the dilemma, instead of
just considering singular-minded options to the given situation.
There are many dynamics in the world, to many things and people that
go on, so this should be in mind when considering all things, by all
sides as options. If the other 15 UN Security Council Nations were in
Iran¶s position they would want this opportunity I believe and chance
to prove themselves on the world stage. A neutral country like
Switzerland could make a good mediator country or sponsor country. I
know the new sanctions resolution against Iran¶s ability to obtain
nuclear weapons parts and technology took many months to negotiate, so
I know another resolution like the one I¶m proposing could take many
months also to organize and negotiate too. Since Turkey and Brazil
voted against the sanctions against Iran¶s nuclear program they
shouldn¶t be a sponsor nation obviously or Lebanon who abstained, but
perhaps one of the other 12 nations on the Security Council that is a
very responsible and reliable one and in a neutral position to a large
extent for example how Switzerland has been historically could be the
sponsor. I wish for this proposal to be translated eventually for the
15 nations on the Council and I believe I will write this to the U.S.
President & French envoy to the UN, and the other nations on the
council¶s envoys. We need to use ³divergent thinking´ here in this
situation which is intellectual originality. This is creative and
counterintuitive thought. It is thinking outside the box. We lose
this ability almost entirely as adults and have this ability working
at 98% as children. Maybe the saying ³and a little child will lead
them´ is true. Many countries encourage this kind of thinking in
their students instead of just conformity, at least it is something
that I know we have in this country, the U.S., but we need to
encourage it more often. We need to be transformed by the renewing of
our minds in divergent ways of thinking and original think tank ideas
to problems we face as powerful nations in the world and the beacons
of freedom and this kind of intellectual originality of thought is how
to do it. I¶m doing this for those who rely on me, and I¶ll fight for
change and wait for the world to change for the better this way. I
believe our future and protection depends on it, and as a Veteran of
the U.S. Army I think it makes sense. Thank you for your time and
hopefully very serious consideration of this proposal to have it be an
option in discussion in a future council session. This is an idea I
devised and is coming from a U.S. Veteran concerned about the issues
facing us today, and the safety of all. Thank you.
