Church-place of worship

The term "church" has two meanings:

a) to gather believers who believe in Jesus Christ and confess his teaching
unchanged and recognize him as the head of the church;

b) the holy place where believers gather to pray and where the holy ministry of
worship is done.

The church is preferably built in the middle of the parish, and if it is possible on a
higher place, reminding us that the Savior is always in the midst of his
word.Christian churches are oriented toward the east by the altar, because the
Christian religion is the religion of light, and Christ is the "eastern rising".

Churches are divided into three parts:

1. The priest-is the party through which he enters the church, here is usually
kept the bowl used for the baptism of children called crystallinita.In pronaos
are painted the faces of those who struggled to win the salvation (cuvyosi,
dulce, sirens), and on the west wall of the church on the right and on the left
of the exit are represented builders, voivodes or hierarchs during which the
painting of the respective church was made. On the outer walls are those
who wanted but were not lucky to be part of the Christian church
(patriarchs, old philosophers, prophets, righteous of the old testament,
pagan serpents).

2. The nave is the middle part and the most spacious, here stand faithful to
prayer. Among the objects that usually stand in the nave, we enumerate:

-the trappod is the stand on which the resurrection icons of the Resurrection or
of feasts are put to worship;

-the singers' pages;

the arch-chair is the seat of the bishop when he visits the church and is seated
on the right side of the nave;

-analog-the stand used by the priest to read the gospel;

-the whirlpool we find only in some churches on the left side of the nave being
the place used by the priest for the sermon;

-Poland-is the chandelier suspended in the middle of the nave.

The nave is separated from the Holy Altar by a wall of wood or wall that is
called the iconostasis.

The nave are represented scenes of life and the work of the Savior. The
birthplace of the apses is represented by birth and investiture, and on the walls
of the nave are represented saints of all categories (martyrs, prophets, silver-
doctors, sometimes hierarchs). Represented in the naos are sworn.

The tower is the highest part of the church, it depicts the inhabitants of
heaven. On the vault of the tower there is painted the image of God the
Pantocrator surrounded by angels. On the walls of the tower appear saintly
prophets and apostles, and down to the base of the tower in the four corners
are painted four evangelists.

3. The altar - is the most significant part of the church and the unseen one. The
most important object of the Holy Shrine is the holy table, the altar on
which the blameless sacrifice of the New Testament is presented, under the
image of bread and wine at the Divine Liturgy.
The Holy Table symbolizes the tomb of the Lord, and as the Lord's body was
wrapped in the shroud, so the Holy Mass is wrapped in a white cloth in the
Indy. Instead, there is another enlightened veil that imagines the Savior's
Changing of the Savior. On the Holy Table is found St. Antimis which is
wrapped in iliton.Sf. Antimis is a rectangular piece in the rectangular shape
of Jesus Christ the Savior in the tomb, and at the top of it there is a pocket
where the martyrs are preserved.
Without this canvas, the priest can not commit the Divine Liturgy. Also on
St. Mary we can find: the ark, the Holy Gospel, the Holy Cross, candles and
candlesticks.
In the midnight part of St. Altar is the Proscomidiar, which is a table where
the first part of the Liturgy is called proscomidie. In the middle of the middle
of the day is the wardrobe, which is a wardrobe where the wreaths and the
worship books are kept. Behind St. Mary is the upper seat.
The altar is the most sacred room, the place where the heavenly and earthly
church is joined. Therefore, there will be painted the faces of those who are
closer to the celestial altar. On the vault of the tower is painted the Mother
of God with the Child as the Empress of the heavens. there are scenes
related to the Christian liturgy, such as the Apostles' communion, the
heavenly liturgy, the Mystery Tabernacle or the Emaus Dinner. The church's
hierarchs are represented in the altar, especially those who played an
important role in the construction of the Christian liturgy (St. Basil, St. John
Chrysostom, St Gregory the Theologian, St. Nicholas) and deacons
(St.Stefan, Laurentiu).
