 GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

After attending health talk on breast self examination participants are


able to know about the meaning of breast self examination, steps, methods
and it’s important. They can also know about the how to performed breast
self examination.

 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

After completion of the health talk the participants will be able to know:
 Introduction to the topic.

 Steps of breast self examination
 Importance of breast self examination

Beginning at the outer edge of
breast move fingers downward
using a circular motion until they
are below the breast. Then move
fingers slightly toward the middle
and slowly move back up. Go up
and down until go over the entire
breast area.

2. Circles:
Beginning at the outer edge of
breast use the flat part of fingers,
moving in circles slowly around
the breast. Gradually make
smaller and smaller circles toward
the nipple. Be sure to cover the
entire breast and check behind

the nipple.

3. Wedges :
Starting at the outer edge of the
breast, move fingers toward the
nipple and back to the edge. Check
entire breast, covering one wedge-
shaped area at a time.

entire area including the
breastbone, collarbone, upper
chest area, and bra line. Pay
special attention to the area
between the breast and the armpit

SUMMARY:

Breast self examination is a screening method used in an attempt to detect early


breast cancer. The method involves the woman herself looking at and feeling each
breast for possible lumps, distortions or swelling. The best time to practice BSE is a few

month. At that time breast will be less tender and swollen. Choose a day each month
