IMPLICATION OF THE STUDY

NURSING EDUCATION

In this study, the student nurses’ aim is to understand the disease more, manifestations, risk and
complications and we were able to enhance our knowledge about diabetes, its sign and
symptoms and treatment modalities, as well as on how we, future nurses, can care for patients
similar to patient. Moreover, we have taken our grand presentation enactment to the next level,
owing this to our extensive learning from our experiences this semester as well as our previous
wisdom acquired in the classroom and hospital settings.

Diabetes is a major public health worldwide. Its complications cause many devastating health
problems. Through this case study, we should be able to learn and understand the Disease
Mellitus and therefore give us knowledge in proper management, prevention, treatment and
proper diet with patient who had this disease. As a student nurse, it is very important to know
many things including the said disease condition. After hardship of completing our case study, a
reward of self-fulfillment and credential to our knowledge and skills has been added to us being
student nurses as well as professional in the near future.

This case study civilizes us to reality in the field. It also gave us the opportunity to know that
Community Exposure is important so that Nursing students would be able to experience how it
works. The availability of health services is necessary in the community. It Gave us the view that
every Community must have enough and available public health nurse to accommodate each
patients.

Through Nursing individual case study and Community diagnosing, we were able to assess the
health needs of the family, plan, implement, and evaluate the impact of health services in the
Community. It gave us the basic knowledge and skills in the community exposure from the
community health nursing (CHN) that one could formulate policies and develops on nursing
aspect of specific program such as Health education or health teaching about pre-existing
illnesses and potential diseases.

NURSING PROFESSION

In the Nursing Profession, and as part of the team we did the, the nurse plans, organizes, and
coordinates care among various health disciplines involved; provides care and education and
promotes, the clients’ health and well-being. In addition, competence, credibility, commitment
and knowledge are needed in the profession. The dedication of Nursing students is to serve and
learn in the community is extraordinary and eminent. However, nursing students must
continuously enhance their knowledge and skills to explore the capability to be use in the
community and to be apply when they are now a registered nurse.
The nursing students and the community must have a successful coordination and cooperation
between health care professionals and collaborate in order to achieve the nursing intervention
when dealing with the diseases like Diabetes Mellitus and any other diseases. The nursing case
study will give the public nurse the awareness of how the community does home management in
their disease.

NURSING RESEARCH

The research showed effectiveness of a nursing students self-management intervention to


improve diabetes control in a population at very high risk and form a resource poor setting.

In the process, we were able to enhance our knowledge about diabetes, its signs and symptoms
and treatments modalities, as well as on how we, future nurses, can care for patients. Moreover,
we have taken our grand presentation enactment to the next level, owing this to our extensive
learning from our experiences this semester as well as our previous wisdom acquired in the
classroom and hospital setting.

The research found out that the assigned household in the community resolve to deal with
Diabetes Mellitus on their own seeking medical assistance and help to the patient. The
Researches therefore recommend that future studies in those existing cases of diseases especially
in the community should focus on determining tangible to teach and aware of the people about
the disease and the value of medical treatment in general.

In addition, this research contributes to the translation research movement to bring more
Evidence-Based practice to underserved communities to reduce health disparities.
