INSTALLATION GUIDE CPR Metronome Setting Program

Setting Overview
Following is the general setting procedure. For details, refer to

Procedure
Checking the Model and Serial Number

* If you use a PC which does not have a Bluetooth module, you need
a Bluetooth USB adapter to communicate with the AED. To set the
Bluetooth connection settings and install this program, you have to
install a Bluetooth driver and software before installing this program.

We recommend a Bluetooth USB adapter that can be used with the


Toshiba Bluetooth Stack for Windows. The Toshiba Bluetooth Stack
includes both the Bluetooth driver and Bluetooth Manager software.

The following versions of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack for Windows are


compatible with this program:
5.10.14, 6.10.10, 6.30.01, 6.40.00, 7.00.11, 7.10.04, 7.10.12, 8.00.12

Adding the AED to the Bluetooth Device List 3. Click the Custom Mode radio button and click the Next

• When you do the following procedure, consult the facility
manager or administrator.

NOTE
1. Click the Windows Start menu and select Programs →

4. Select the AED from the list in the Bluetooth device area and
click the Next button.

NOTE
• For the AED-2100K, the AED is displayed in the list
as “AED-2100K UR-0385 XXXXXX” (XXXXXX: serial
number of the AED main board).
• For the AED-2150 series, the AED is displayed in the
list as “AED-XXXX MAIN YYYYYY”. (AED-XXXX: AED
model, YYYYYY: serial number of the AED main board).
• Devices other than AED might also appear in the list.

Changing the AED Status to “Connected” on the


Bluetooth Software
1. Open the AED lid to turn the power on.

8. Confirm the COM port and click the Next button.

3. Click the Windows Start menu and select Programs →

Or, right-click the Bluetooth icon on the task bar and select
Bluetooth Settings from the pop-up menu. If you turn the AED power off after connecting the AED to
the PC, the Bluetooth Manager – Bluetooth Security window
appears. To connect the PC to the AED again, enter the 5
digit serial number printed on the back of the AED in the
Bluetooth Passkey (PIN) text box.

Applying the CPR Metronome Setting


1. Double-click the setup file.

AED-2150 series)
• CPR Metronome: 100 times/minute
• COM port:
COM port selected in step 3 in this procedure.
The Communication in Progress window appears and shows

there is a voice message “Communication mode” from the
AED and the AED enters the communication mode.

4. Check that the AED is connected to the PC.

When the AED is connected to the PC:


• The Next button on the CPR Metronome Settings Program
window becomes available.
• For the AED-2100K, the battery status indicators on the
AED slowly blink and the pads placement indicators are
not lit.

7. Click the OK button to start installation.

While applying the setting, a progress bar appears on the


CPR Metronome Settings Program window.

NOTE
• The installation consists of two phases: uploading and
applying the setting to the AED. When applying (the
second phase of installation) starts, there is a beep
sound; this is not an error indication.
• Do not turn the AED power off during installation.

When installation finishes, the AED power automatically


turns off and the following screen appears.

8. Click the OK button.

9. Close the AED lid.

Confirming the CPR Metronome Sound


1. Open the AED lid to turn the AED power on.

2. Check that the CPR metronome sounds in both Adult and


Child modes at the rate of 100 times/minute.

Checking that the Check Sheet is Complete


When you finish installation, confirm that every item in the check
sheet on the last page is checked. Make a copy of the check sheet
and keep it for 6 years.
