PROCLAMATION No. 922, DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES
due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) effective 08 March 2020.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) informs all consumers and retailers that under Section 6 of Republic Act (RA) No. 7581 otherwise
known as Price Act of the Philippines as amended by RA 10623, on Automatic Price Control, unless sooner lifted by the President, price control
of basic necessities shall remain effective for the duration of the condition that brought it about, but not for more than sixty (60) days.

Note: Basic Necessities enlisted in the Price Freeze is based on the prevailing price monitored in NCR before the proclamation of the State of Public Health
Emergency. Further, products enlisted in the price freeze include all brands under the categories of the Basic Necessities that are commonly seen and monitored
in the supermarkets and groceries in NCR.
The DTI enjoins consumers to report retailers that sell basic necessities more than the specified prices to DTI - Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau.
The Price Act provides that any retailers found selling more than the listed prevailing prices shall be imposed with an administrative fine up to
One Million Pesos (P1,000,000.00) and/or a maximum of 10-year imprisonment.
