I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the
end of the session, the different Grade 11 students should be able to do the following:
a.
define are safety practices;
b.
identify the different safety practices in Sports and Exercise;
c.
manifest appreciation by giving different strategies to avoid injuries in Sports and Exercise.
II. SUBJECT MATTER

III. LEARNING PROCESS

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY

Standard preparation of routinely activities before the lesson proper such as greeting the class,
checking attendance, arrangement of the chairs and etc.

A. Activity
The teacher will post different pictures on the board. The pictures will be different injuries
related to sports and exercise. The teacher will then ask the following questions:

1. What can you say about the different pictures?


2. What common elements are there?
3. Why do think injuries happen?
4. What do you think are injuries?

After the activity, the teacher will then ask the students to write their findings on a piece of
paper.
The teacher will then ask the following questions:

A. Analysis
 What did you feel when doing the activity?
 What common variables are there?
 What can you say about the different pictures?
 How do you think we can relate this to our everyday lives?
 What do you think are the common causes of injuries?
 Why do you say so?

B. Abstraction
The teacher will then discuss the topic for today – Safety Practices in Sports and Exercise:
An Introduction. The teacher will have a to-and-fro discussion with the students.

C. Application
The teacher will ask the students to write a short essay about “My own experience with injuries.”
They will be asked to write their experience when they had an injuries and what did they do to
deal with it.
IV. EVALUATION
Activity:
List five different situations that involved you with injuries and explain how you handled it.
