SERVICE MANUAL OPT/70 EC 02
Introduction
The present manual was specially made for the exclusive use of the OPT s.p.a. technician
licensed to install or make reparations on operating tables which the manual apply to.
OPT is responsabile for the safety, the entrusting and the performance of the device only if
installation, modifications or reparation will be done by authorized personnel and only if the
equipment is used in area in accordance to IEC standard and it is used in accordance to users
manual.
The possession of the present manual is not an implicit licence to make any service
operations on the operating tables.
As far as strictly observe the instructions contained in the Instruction Manual (delivered
togheter with the table) for operating table utilization. Techincal data are also described on it.
Before and after any service operation a Run Tests have to be performed in accordance with
the Users Manual and observing strictly the table Display with its information.
The operating table OPT 70 EC02 is classified as Class I Type B and is in compliance with
the International Standard IEC 601.1, National Standards VDE 0750, CEI 62.5 (1991) and their
modifications and the International Standard Project prEN 50115. It has the IMQ and VDE
conformity certificates togheter with marks applied on the table. Given these conformity certificates
achieved by testing a sample in IMQ and VDE Institutes, it is not allowed to realize any
modifications to the operating table or its components without causing the decay of the IMQ and
VDE conformity certificate.

SERVICE MANUAL OPT/70 EC 02
To test the earthing continuity, as described in section 18 of the IEC 601.1 or CEI 62.5
standard, between the protection conctact of the appliance inlet and the earthed metal part is to be
considered that the metal part is not the operating table covers but is the battery charging unit/
power supply covering inside the table. So it is necessary to raise up the operating table covers and
connect the test probe to the above mentioned covering.
At the end of the test pull down the covers, make sure to do not damage the cable of the
charger, and tighten the 2 screws.
About the connection to equipotential equalization: the operating table, as for presently
valid, IEC 601.1 and CEI 62.5 standards, during its use has to be connected to the equipotential
device of the operating theatre. The OPT tables, in addition to the equipotential cable connector, are
gifted with a floor conctact device (antistatic foot or antistatic wheel or contact spring) so the
connection to the equipotential device of the operating theatre can be reached through the antistatic
floor as well. As it is users responsability to connect the operating table to the equipotential device
of the operating theatre, it is users responsability to verify if the connection is done with an enough
low impedence, expecially in the connection through the antistatic floor.
About the insulation test or the dielectric strength: these tests are made by the producer and
due to the fact they are tests causing stress to the insulation material, according to section 4.2 of the
IEC 601.1 or CEI 62.5 standard, they must not be repeated.
