being constructed leading to di erent tourism
destinations in Southern Leyte at a cost of P151 million, according to the Department of Public Works and
Highways-Southern Leyte District Engineering O ce (DPWH-SLDEO).

This road is leading to Anas view deck in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. Ongoing activity in the site is the installation of

According to DPWH-SLDEO District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia, the road leading to Taglinao Falls in San
Francisco will cost P12.86 million, the one leading to the Anas view deck in Padre Burgos, P22.6 million; the
road going to the bird sanctuary and mangrove site in Saint Bernard, P10 million; the  Crater Lake in San Juan,
P24 million; Fatima Hills in Macrohon, P11.74 million;  Guinsaugon Lake in Saint Bernard, P10 million; Ollies
wall dive site in Liloan worth P10 million; and the  Limasawa circumferential road worth P50 million.

“The tourism access roads will not only attract more tourists and travelers but will also provide our locals
easier transportation of their goods and farm products to commercial districts. Hopefully, these projects will
unlock economic opportunities in rural communities,” Junia said.

Junia reported that these sites for tourism access road projects were identi ed through a convergence
between the DPWH and the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Southern Leyte province is known for world-class dive sites, caves, extreme adventures sites, waterfalls, safari,
river trekking, crater lake trekking, sh feeding, rain forest tramping, scuba diving, and whale shark
interaction, island escapades, beach fun, and religious journeys, among others.
