Site Clearance shall be taken from concerned Site In-charge

Survey work Only skilled helpers shall be deployed for the Site In-charge
job with surveyor.
Before start the job remove /clean the bushes Site In-charge
and if required apply pesticides and carbolic
acid.
In summer season use umbrella and take Site In-charge
sufficient water and ORS to prevent sunstroke MIEL/CIVIL/001/01
& dehydration
Gum boot and hand gloves shall be used by Site In-charge
survey troop.
Adequate illumination shall be provided at all Site In-charge
work places and approach
passages/corridors.

4. Work Instructions : As mentioned below

Manual  Before excavation begins, the construction Site In-charge
Excavation engineer must consider specific site
conditions such as – presence of a
competent person, traffic, vibrations in the
vicinity of the worksite, proximity of
structures and their conditions, soil,
surface water and groundwater, chemical
contamination of soil or water, overhead
and underground utilities, weather etc.
 Before start of trial trench excavation, the
site survey to be done to know in advance
the underground utilities and suitably the
route to be decided.
 Hard barricading to be provided around the Site In-charge MIEL/CIVIL/001/01
excavated part if the depth of excavation is
more than 1 m. The hard barricading shall
be 1.5 m distance from the edge of
excavated pit/trench.
 Walkways shall be provided where
employees or equipment are required or
permitted to cross over excavations.
 Pathways shall not be slippery (due to
accumulation of mud, sand or gravel). This
should be avoided.
 Excavated material should be stacked at a
safe distance (min 1.5 m away from the
edge)

 Adequate protection shall be provided to Site In-charge

protection shall consist of scaling to

provided on the sides of excavation face or
slope may be provided as per solid type.
 To avoid collapse bench cutting to be done
as per the requirement and also restrict the
source of water nearby area.
 Movement of heavy vehicle beside or
nearby excavated pit shall be restricted
 Excavated area should be barricaded with
strong and rigid material.
 Red light shall be provided along the
barricade in night for caution purpose.
 Only experience operator with HMV
license holder operator shall operate the
equipment


 After de-shuttering board shall be removed and
kept in designated place and stacked properly.
 All unwanted/scrap board kept in Bin & Proper
housekeeping will be ensured on regular basis.
 Safe access to be provided in working area.
 Batten ply board with Protruding nails shall be
removed from work place and remove from the
board and batten.
 All tools/tackles must be in good condition &
properly checked by concerned persons.
 For night job Illumination more than or equal
65Lux must be provided at site.
