Third Stage
Real Case Study
March 5th – 6th 2020

I. Stage Description

The Third Stage of the 20th Annual ISEEC is the final stage for the Top 5
Finalists of ISEEC 2020. The final stage is about solving a real case study which will
be divided into three phases. The first phase is the phase of company visit and data-
gathering. The next phase is the formulation of the case study solution. Finalists will
be asked to use information obtained from the company visit to solve the real case
provided. The last phase is the presentation of the solutions offered for the problem
given in the case study. The solution will be presented to credible judges who will
decide the winner of ISEEC 2020.
In the first phase, the participants will also be equipped with data provided by
the committee. At this phase, the participants are allowed to seek data from the
internet, observe every process, and conduct interviews to get deeper understanding
about the problem while participating in the company visit.
The second phase is held immediately after the company visit and data
gathering phase. In the last phase, finalists will have to present the solution of the case
study. Finalists are prohibited to have any contact with anyone other than their own
team members. However, the committee will be present if the participants need any
personal help. The finalists may also use additional tools to enhance the quality of the
solution and presentation.
The aims of the Final Stage of ISEEC 2020 are:
1. To test the observation ability of the ISEEC 2020 Top 5 finalists.
2. To test problem identification skill of the participants in the given case study.
3. To test the ability of the participants to build solutions using the methods and
tools of Industrial Engineering to solve the problems in a real case study.
4. To test the ability of participants in presenting a solution in an attractive and
convincing way.
5. To test the ability of participants in handling questions of the Q&A session.

After the final presentation of solutions have concluded, the Top 3 winners of ISEEC
2020 will be announced, and they will need to compose a paper based on their own
solutions. The paper will then be submitted to our main sponsor.

II. Activity Review

The Final Stage will be conducted in two days. On the first day, participants will
do a company visit in order to gain deeper understanding of the company and also the
problem in the case study. On the next day, participants are going to present the best
solutions regarding the case study to the credible judges who will decide the winners
of ISEEC 2020.
