HISTORY OF MAUBAN FOUNDATIONAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Mauban Foundational Christian School, formerly known as Foundational Learning Center was
established on 1996, founded by Pastor Roberto V. Calucin under the ministry of One in Christ Int’l.
Church. This school was established with the help of Institute for Foundational Learning headed by
American missionary Rev, Patricia Capwell base in Cabuyao Laguna City to trained administrators and
teachers on how to run Learning Center for early childhood development, to provide teaching materials
and to supervise.

The opening of Foundational Learning Center begun with humble beginning offered Nursery for
3 years old with 7 enrolled pupils, Pre-Kindergarten for 4 years old with 9 enrolled pupils and
Kindergarten for 5 years old with 3 enrolled pupils with the total of 19 students on its first school year.
The learning area was inside the church of One In Christ with movable divider to have 2 class rooms it
was located at 14 Horacio Dela Cost st. Brgy Sadsaran Mauban, Quezon.

This Learning Center were run by Pastor Roberto V. Calucin as Administrator and his wife Mrs.
Florie E. Calucin together with two pioneering Teachers Ms. Susan D. Sol and Ms. Marilyn D. Librando,
singles at that time.

On 1997-1998, 28 students were enrolled and finished the school year. The former pioneering
staff of Institute for Foundational Learning Ms. Anabel M. Calleja the municipal head of Tourism of
Mauban, Quezon at that time became the guest speaker of its 2 nd Commencement exercises.

On 1998-1999, the 3rd Commencement Exercises guest speaker performed by the newly
elected mayor Fernando Q. Llamas with the theme Education: “Key to a better future” in front
of 39 students, parents and visitors.
Yearly, teachers were added such are Mrs. Beverlyn E. Calucin, Ms. Pearly Shell Potestades, Mrs.
Aleli M. Bolito, Ms. Jinky Camposagrado, Mrs. Baby Lyn O. Calucin and Mrs. Leniebeth M. Villafuerte due
of constant increase of enrollments until the school was limit the admittance to 90 students only
because of limited facilities from 2010-2016

On 2001, the Foundational Learning Center was received an award from Institute for Foundation
Learning of “FOUNDATIONAL BUILDER AWARD” and on 2010, 2016 and this 2019 the school was
received a prestigious award of “GOLDEN AWARD” from Institute for Foundational Learning for being
faithful commitment to further the kingdom of God through the implementation of vision, goal,
principle of IFL and for consistent and progressive quality in Education.

On 2006, the administrator of the school was received a notice from DepEd that all private
Institution need to seek government permit to operate. On this year the Foundational Learning Center
became Mauban Foundational Christian School when it was registered to Social Exchange Commission
(SEC) then MFCS seek supervision under Department of Education and after the completion of all the
requirements the Mauban Foundational Christian School was approved to have government permit to
operate on 2010.

On its 10th year Commencement Exercises of MFCS year 2006 were blessed to have Rev. Patricia
Capwell as being the guest speaker with 86 pupils moving up. On 2011 Mauban Foundational Christian
School was acquired a lot with 306sqm. Located at Enverga st Brgy. Bagong Bayan. On 2016, MFCS build
2 story building but as of now first floor only was finished, presently using with 2 class rooms, 1 faculty
room or multipurpose room, office room, canteen and 4 comfort rooms.

This school year of 2019-2020 MFCS are going to mark 24 years of service with 117 enrolled
students with 9 teachers and faculty personnel such are Ptr. Roberto V, Calucin, Mrs. Florie E. Calucin,
Mr. Ralph Angelo Gallardo, Teacher Aleli M. Bolito, Teacher Leniebeth Villafuerte, Teacher Pearly Shell
Nadera, Teacher Rowena Manuba, Teacher Shine B. Dejoras and Teacher Priscila Ayuma.
