A lion had been watching three bulls feeding in an open field. One day, he attempted to attack the bulls several
different times but without success. This was so because the bulls stayed together and helped each other drive him off. The
lion had lost hope in eating them. The lion was no match for three strong bulls with their sharp horns and hoofs.
The lion stayed on the watch until he noticed the bulls were no longer together. They stayed away from each other
after fighting over something. It was now easier than ever to attack the bulls one at a time, which he did to his great delight.
There is strength in numbers. Three weak entities can be stronger than a very strong one. This can be a good reason
for making cooperation a goal in organizations.
People lie for different reasons. One common reason is to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. For example, a friend
might ask, “Do you like my new haircut? If you think it’s ugly, you might still answer, “Yes.” We value the relationship more
than telling the truth because we love the person. However, some say it’s better to tell the truth which hurts than to make the
person we love believe in a lie which provides temporary happiness.
