Document Usage
The following introduces how to use these manuals to obtain in-
formation easily.
� Documentation guide
It is recommended to read the Documentation Guide first to
understand the documents' category, purposes, contents, and
usage of the iBSC document set.
� Technical manuals
These manuals enable readers to have a complete concept of
the entire system. Read the System Description and the Hard-
ware Description for information such as the system compo-
sition, equipment functions, technical indices, working princi-
ples, connection relationship of external interfaces, LED indi-
cators, and DIP switch and jumper settings.

� Installation manuals
These manuals guide installation personnel to safely and
correctly install hardware and software. Read the Hardware
Installation Guide carefully before installing hardware equip-
ments. After the hardware installation is completed, read
the Software Installation Guide carefully before installing
software.
� Maintenance manuals
These manuals guide users to maintain the equipment period-
ically. They provide typical troubleshooting solutions to guide
users to remove faults and perform emergency maintenance.
They also describe various part replacement procedures. Read
the Routine Maintenance, the Troubleshooting, and the Emer-
gency Maintenance carefully for equipment maintenance to en-
sure that the equipment can work normally.
� Operation manuals
These manuals guide users to perform operations on the net-
work management system interface. Read the Initial Config-
uration Guide, the Feature Configuration Guide, the Diagno-
sis and Test Operation Guide, the Dynamic Data Management
Operation Guide, the Software Management Operation Guide,
and the Signaling Tracing Operation Guide carefully before per-
forming data configuration or object test at background.
� Reference manuals
These manuals provides reference information related to oper-
ations in the network management system and troubleshoot-
ing. The Performance Counter Reference introduces meanings,
measurement points, and usage of various performance mea-
surement counters. The KPI Reference introduces definitions,
formulas, and influence factors of common KPIs. The Alarm
Handling Reference and the Notification Handling Reference
explain the handling of various alarms and notifications, which
are used as reference for maintenance. The Radio Parame-
ters Reference and Ground Parameters Reference explain the
meanings, Values and Relationships of all the parameters. The
MML Command Reference is used for network management
man-machine command query.

Document Distribution
Product manuals are distributed to customers in the following
ways:
� Printed manual
Printed product manuals are shipped along with the equipment.
� CD
Product manuals in CD form are shipped along with the equip-
ment.
� Website
Product manuals are also available on ZTE's technical support
website http://ensupport.zte.com.cn.

Documentation Obtaining
The product manual can be obtained by the following two methods:
Downloading Electronic product manuals can be downloaded from ZTE's techni-
Electronic Product cal support website http://ensupport.zte.com.cn.
Manuals
1. Open http://ensupport.zte.com.cn to go to the ZTE's technical
support website homepage.
2. In the User Center pane, enter your Account, Password,
and check code, and click Log in.
For the first time registration on server, click Register for a
new account. Fill in relevant information according to instruc-
tions on the screen step by step. After confirmation by ZTE,

usually two work days, the user is sent an account and pass-
word for logging on to the server
3. Click Documentation > Product Manuals, select the prod-
uct category GSM, the system lists all documents related to
GSM radio products and core network products. Click GSM
Wireless > Base Station Controller, find the manual to be
downloaded and click Documents Download.
4. Another option is to click Documentation > Product Manu-
als and input Keyword to search relevant product manuals.
Also, user can click Advanced Search to set certain query
conditions to find needed product manuals.
Requesting for Users can contact the local ZTE office to obtain printed product
Printed Product manuals or CDs.
