Questions 1-6 are based on the passage. This passage is a critique of a book called Black
Fiction, which is a critical analysis of the genre black fiction. Therefore the tone is critical. It
has all the makings of a critical tone. It starts with the discussion of the genre, and then
moves onto the good points of the book, some criticism and then finally ending on a good
note.
1D – as given in the first paragraph. The author likes Black Fictio0n precisely due to the
reason that it analyses only the literary criteria of the genre. Which other authors like Addison
Gayle fail to do

3rd line, given in option d. The author fails to appraise the works he analyses and keeps it
strictly neutral.
