Foundation for Organization Research and Development


(KFORD) was founded in the year 2009 with the objective of partnering
with government and non-government organisations/institutions to

enable inclusive development in Jammu & Kashmir. KFORD is a

registered organization having its major thrust on research and
development with special focus on child rights and protection issues.

Research forms a core part of our strategy to strengthen and support
government and civil society. KFORD undertakes applied research to
further our understanding of key issues around the role of civil society
within local, national and international development. We conduct
research on Socio-Economic, Rights based and Developmental areas that

provide civil society, government and academic institutions with new

development, rights based & humanitarian aid work, dedicated to
strengthening the civil society.
We seek to influence government, policies and also publish the study

reports. Our funding is through grants from governments, independent
trusts and foundations.

v Livelihood Impact Study: Strengthening protection, psychosocial welfare and
economic support for conflict affected children and their families in Jammu &
Kashmir, Project Funded by EUROPEAN COMMISSION DIRECTORATE-GENERAL
FOR HUMANITARIAN AID (ECHO), SC, and HF.
v Improved status of most socially excluded children in J&K with their voices heard
and recognized institutionally by formal and informal structures. (Kupwara &
Anantnag districts of J&K) Project Funded by DFID (Department of International
Development) SC, HF/YT.
v Strengthening protection mechanisms for conflict-affected and other vulnerable
children in Jammu and Kashmir--BASELINE SURVEY OF 24 VILLAGES AT KUPWARA

Americare India.
v Survey on Out- of- School Children through Talash, Budgam J&K. Funded by
UNICEF in support with Education Department Government of J&K.
v DRAFTING A POLICY FRAMEWORK TO SECURE RIGHTS OF ORPHAN CHILDREN
AND GOVERN ORPHANAGES IN JAMMU & KASHMIR. Supported by Ministry of
Law and Justice, Department of Justice, Government of India.
v Protecting Child Rights, in particular Rights to Protection in Budgam district of
Jammu and Kashmir State supported by UNICEF.
v South Asian Conference for peace and development at Sonamarg J&K 2015.
Supported and in partnership with South Asian Fraternity and J&K Government.
v Community-based protection and participation of children in Kashmir: (Child
Friendly Spaces) Covering 20,000 (5000 direct and 15,000 in schools) children,

5000 parents, 2000 community members (religious leaders, eminent
persons in the village, key influencers) Supported by UNICEF).
v The overall objective of KFORD in the area of water, sanitation and
hygiene (WASH) is to contribute to the realization of children’s
rights to survival and development through promotion of the sector
and support to state and national programmes that increase equitable and
sustainable access to, and use of, safe water and basic sanitation services, and
promote improved hygiene. Under this program KFORD has worked at district
Kupwara, Bandipore, Baramulla, Budgam and Anantnag for safe water and basic
sanitation services and to promote improved hygiene through different initiatives
from last four years (Constructed Four Community Based Convenience Centers till
2019).
v Child Protection District Need Assessment Study (DNA) & District Child Protection
Plan, 2017-18 Budgam District, Jammu & Kashmir: A Collaboration between KFord
