Business Plan: Producing Special Diet Namkeens in Delhi

Why this Business: People living in Delhi are known to be fond of Spicy food and prefer
variety of offerings. At the same time, there is a growing need of health conscious products.
But, the consumers do not want to forget the special taste of the products.We intend to offer
namkeens which are not harmful to the health of those people and still tastes well.

Marketing Strategy
North Indians are the highest consumers of Namkeens and Snacks in the country, with the
Western India being at the second place.
In the Namkeens industry, the main thing that affects the taste and demand of the product is
the proportion and taste of different masalas in them.
When a consumer has an affinity for more masalas, he/she has different choices and
preferences for different styles of namkeen
In Delhi, the buying behaviour in case of namkeens is more of an impulse buying and
customers prefer varieties of namkeens in different occasions. Namkeens can be eaten with
cocktails, during teatime, as props with regular meals like breakfast or as starters with dinner.

The buying of namkeens is the most common in the time of festivals, especially during
Diwali, when there are a lot of exchange of gifts among the people.
So, it is important to focus on impacting the subconsciousness of these customers during the
festive seasons. The positioning of the namkeen product as a premium provider and the
connect of the brand with the religion quotient will impact the behaviour of these consumers
the most.

Consumers value every namkeen for its unique taste and quality, so creating a value of the
product that we will offer will help us retain customer loyalty.
Creating a website, using Google AdWords, since the customers make intuitive purchases by
searching over the internet.

An important point to notice is, usually, people in Delhi buy small packets while they are out
and prefer to buy big packets when in homes. So, providing a fast delivery system for the
products will be an efficient solution to gain a last mile connection with the consumers.
As we studied the marketing strategies of Haldiram, we found that the brand connects with
the consumers by being extensively available over all platforms and having a great last mile
connect with the consumers. 4
