To Whom It May Concern:


It is with great pleasure to recommend Megan McCaffrey for a teaching position. I worked with
Megan during her yearlong internship as her field instructor in Forest Hills Public Schools and
Grand Rapids Public Schools both located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I have observed Megan teach in both special education and general education settings. First
semester, Megan worked with 23 high school students with Individualized Education Plans in
the areas of SL, TBI, EI, LD, and OHI focusing on academic support in English 9 and 10,
Geometry, Aglebra 1, Chemistry, Biology, US and World History. In addition to teaching, she
actively participated in several IEP’s, co-led parent/teacher conferences, and attended building
professional development and in-services. Second semester, Megan worked with a diverse
group of 21 fourth grade students lead teaching in reading, writing, math, and science subject
areas. Megan also managed to complete several graduate level courses throughout the year.
In both of her internship placements, she made building relationships a priority and reinforcing
a classroom atmosphere that promoted caring, personal responsibility, and effective
collaboration. One of Megan's strengths is her ability to maintain a calm and in-charge
demeanor. She excels in her use of active participation strategies and her students show a high
level of engagement during her lessons. Megan is reflective about her teaching and is eager to
further strengthen her instructional skills.
Megan is proficient at delivering scaffolded instruction in reading, writing, math, and science.
She consistenly demonstrates her knowledge of each student’s present level of achievement
and funtioning while delivering varied and authentic lessons based on grade level curriculum,
student interest, and include several learning styles. She implemenented and evaluated
multiple individualized daily lessons that resulted in maximizing student growth. Megan was
College of able to modify materials and differentiate curriculum to meet individual needs and enhance
Education student success.
Megan’s positive can-do attitude makes her a wonderful addition to any teaching staff. She has
Department of the desire and is committed to seizing the opportunity to grow and improve professionally,

Educational holding herself accountable to elevated standards. I highly recommend Megan for any teaching
