you can go through mech with less stress.

You have just one year left after fourth year, and you need to make optimal use of your time.
Well I'm not in a hurry to make promises because talk is cheap. However, I'll still make
promises because I know I will do it. After being the assistant librarian twice (in my 2nd year
and 3rd year) while assisting other librarians to achieve their goals, I've seen that some things
are doable, some other plans may seem feasible, but the staff may be against the idea.

My classmates are going through stress in sorting project works from the library. Only few
librarians that I worked with have actually found a solution to this because some were not yet
in final year, so they were not experiencing the stress.
I doubt if someone who has not assisted in the library will have enough passion when he
enters office. I mean passion to sacrifice his time to arrange project works when he is not
even in fourth year.
The solution is to CATALOGUE the project works in the library. Hence we'll create an excel
document that will make accessibility to project materials easier. This implies that you don't
hae to scatter the shelves anymore. Also, this is like killing two birds with a stone because it
would be of great use in you main project (MEC 521 ­6 unit load) and your mini project
(MEC 511 ­ 4 unit load).
Well, the department will soon release a list of places where previous sets did their I.T. This
will help you to select in case you still haven't gotten a place. You can also be sure that you'll
get I.T. opportunity updates when they come out.
MEC 418­ This is a bonus course to those that have good class attendance. Also there is
usually a term paper on Pneumatics and hydraulics. Even if you don't do it excellently, just
ensure you submit something on or b4 the deadline.
MEC 461­ Please submit any assignment which will be given. Also don't go into the exam
hall without reviewing the past question of the last four years. You'll know exactly what to
expect. Use the lecture note from the lecture and solve the examples in it. Your steps may not
the marked, just your final answers. (Though that doesn't mean you should not show
workings)
MEC 471­ Please smash the test because it will be as easy as you can imagine. For the exam,
solve past questions and basically the examples in the textbook. When you practice often, you
make mistakes and hence you are conscious to prevent such mistake during the exam.
MEC 451­ Please don't joke with the lecturer's tutorial classes. Even if you just go to copy
notes. In my time, Dr. Mgbemene picked some examples from class as 10 mark exam
questions and the three questions he solved on the last day of lectures as 20 mark exam
questions.
MEC 442­ Expect just little definition questions in the test and exam. Block diagram, signal
flow, etc are very important. The library has a soft copy containing lots of examples on block
diagrams, etc......not the lecturer's material.
ENGR 401­ Last year, each lecturer gave test after their last lecture. It may be different this
year, but try not to miss classes. The MEC 301 Agwuamba textbook will also be of little help.
Meanwhile, learn your simplex well.

Remember, University is not a competition, just like life is not a competition. We rise by
