TITLE SEQUENCES

IMPORTING AND EXPORTING CLIPS

IMPORTING CLIPS
I started my project by downloading numerous clips onto the downloads section
on the pc. I then imported them onto premier pro where I could edit and put all
the clips together. We went through each clip and didn’t use the ones that were
not filmed well enough.

OVERLAYING CLIPS
I started using this technique when I realised that I could overlap soundtracks
and sound effects to create cool and effective sounds. This technique I used
makes the sounds and clips in my edited sequences smoother and fluid. For
example, in the first title sequence, the sound effect of John breaking the lock
and the music overlaps over each other making a more fluid effect.

SETTING UP A SEQUENCE
I set up a new sequence by clicking on a new sequence. It created a blank
editing area for me to put clips together and edit efficiently.

EDITING AND TRIMMING CLIPS INTO SEQUENCE

I started to edit by trimming and putting clips together. This is one of the first
things I do when starting to edit. I shorten clips by using the razor tool on premier
pro. It is easy and efficient.

GRAPHIC ELEMENTS AND TRANSITIONS

I used many different transitions and effects in order to create an effective and
clean-cut title sequence. I wanted my title sequence to include different types
of fades and transitions. One of the first types of transitions I used was fade to
black. It creates a smooth transition effect from one scene to another. Another transition I
used was the zoom effect. The video zooms in and then zooms out
into another scene in the title sequence. It is very effective when you want to
zoom into a certain object or subject.
COLOUR CORRECTION
I used colour correction and edited various types of colours in different scenes in
order to create a crime and horror effect in my title sequences. I used colours
such as red and orange to create a haunted and bloody effect in one of the
title sequences. However, for my first title sequence, I used a few blue colour
highlights in certain areas. These create better effects.

Adding Titles and transitions

I added many transitions and titles in each title sequences, for example when i introduced
characters. I did this by using the Graphics option in the small taskbar. This enabled me to
add text to whatever scene and shot i wanted to and i could change the fonts and the sizing
of the letters. you can find many different effects for the video in premier pro such as ,
transitions, this can often be quite useful because for some of the effects they enable you to
create a whole new look. The transitions can be very useful however, there are other ways
of creating transitions like dissolves using key framing on settings on two videos and you can
change opacity and the speed of each transition. There are many different transitions and
you can use transitions for both sound and video which makes it much more complex and
helpful.

Editing sound.

I started to edit all the different audios that we had caught and added in different sound
effects and sound tracks which made my work harder and annoying as i had to edit and
make each sound clip better by editing and using transitions. First i used the transition
editing button to create transitions from one sound to another making it seem more natural. I
used the pen tool to also fade out the soundtrack as well because I wanted to see if it would
work the same as the fade out option by right clicking the ending of the clip and selecting
“Apply Default Transitions”.
