I joined as expatriate Instrumentation Engineer for Eleme Petrochemicals, Nigeria. I had been working for revamping,
modifications, projects for this KBR licensed petrochemicals for Olefins, Power Plant, Offsites and Utilities. At Present holding the
responsibility of Sectional Head.

Work Experience
I. 6th September 2006 to present:
Eleme Petrochemicals Co. Ltd., Eleme, Portharcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

As an expatriate, I had been assigned the Instrumentation Head of Section for the OLEFINS and Offsite plants in this mega
complex. Olefin is a KBR licensed Gas Cracker Complex, which produces Ethylene and Propylene. Offsite plants include GE Gas
Based Power Plant, Air Compressor, Inst Air Dryer, Nitrogen Plant, DM Water, Raw Water, Effulent Treatment Plant, and
Hydrocarbon Storage Area etc… I am working on the re-vamping and renovating of this plant which comprises of the many
activities like, complete overhauling of the equipment, compressors instrumentation, field equipment, control valves, DCS
migration, Maintenance planning, Procurement etc… for improving instrumentation reliability. I am also working for installing
the new projects like new Nitrogen plant, New De-mineralized water plants under its expansion programme where the exposure
is from the grass root level.

The Instrumentation systems include YOKOGAWA Centum XL/CS3000 Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Modicon Quantum
PLCs, GE Gas Turbine Control Systems MK-IV, Woodward Steam Turbine Control Systems.

II. 26th June 1996 to 4th September 2006: (Reason for leaving: Higher Salary)

As a Manager (Instrumentation) when last left: The responsibilities include such as sectional head for instrumentation in

MY CONTRIBUTION
Basic Design & Engineering
 Involved in the FEED, typical FAT and vendor package design discussions.
 Prepare graphic mark-up based on P&ID and check the finished graphics.
 Prepare DCS functional specification for sequence control, regulatory control, sub-system communication. HMI: HMI modifier
condition, operation grouping, security, report template development, alarm and logging functions.
 Implement and debug sequence and subsystem logics, I/O mapping, regulatory control loops, complex loops, logging reports
and HMI functions.
FAT & Post FAT Recovery
Prepare Pre-FAT and FAT procedure.
Conduct DCS FAT and IFAT with subsystems namely ESD, FGS, VMS, MOV, TLAS System.
Implement post FAT punch list items and as built documentation.
I have done the complete control system engineering for utilities, waste water treatment and residue fluid catalytic cracking
(RFCC) units.
Conduct OTS FAT along with Honeywell OTS team.
SAT & Commissioning
Jointly conduct OTS FAT and SAT for the complete project along with Honeywell HI-SPEC team and JGC in integrating the
Honeywell Shadow Plant OTS with DCS.
Conduct DCS SAT and commissioning activity at SOHAR site along with EPC and client.
Powering up, supervision of all the communication and control cable laying and termination.
Expedite problems, which occur during the loop checking hardwired and communication I/O’s.
Establish MODBUS and other serial communication link with subsystems like (VMS, ASC, Governor, MOV, custody metering,
AMS, PMS, BMS, MCC, ESD, FGS, weighing unit etc).
Functional checks with the vendors/licensors packages and design new sequence logic/regulatory control modification of DCS
software when ever required.
 Commissioning coordination with the EPC contractor commissioning team and sub-vendors.
PID Tuning for control loops.
Integration of the DCS Network to the Plant LAN and information management system ICIMS via OPC along with YOKOGAWA
MAREX (UK).
WEB CONNECTION for DCS remote access monitoring was done using Terminal Servers.
PRM - ASSET MANAGEMENT APPLICATION configuration and preparation of the complete database with the existing plant
hierarchy.
Implement various special applications such as TLAS (terminal automation system) and loading batch control, report package,
blending control, OPC server connections for each SIH, time synchronization, long term data archive, EXATAS, EXAOPC.
Performance monitoring of YOKOGAWA Centum CS3000 System both application software and the Hardware.DCS
Commissioning spares management.
As-Built Documentation
Lead a team of 4 to complete the as-built documentation for both hardware and software with in the 3 months period.
Review finished documents and submitting the same to EPC contractor.

demineralization plant and waste water treatment plant .
Coordinate with other departments like procurement, accounts and operations for job completion.
Selections of instrument based on process requirement, preparation of specification sheet for Instrument and send the same
to vendors.
Maintain good rapport with vendors and there by getting instruments on trial basis and after successful testing for a particular
period, giving the order for the same.
Conduct HSE and other internal audit for instrument department.
Preparation of monthly Report, CAPEX estimation, R&M estimation and material management report.
Handled material indenting, checking purchase requisitions, vendor selection and technical discussions, prepare technical and
commercial evaluation report, material inspection at stores, AMC, maintaining ROL/ROQ level for materials and contractors
orders
