Chapter 1

Introduction

Nowadays we encounter a lot of problems in our environment like increasing of heat or

such as ultra violet rays, to avoid it we need to lessen using non-renewable energy, otherwise we

must use renewable energy like solar energy. Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun

that is harnessed using a range of ever evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics,

solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants and artificial photosynthesis.

To convert sunlight energy, we must have/use solar panel, solar panels are devices that convert

light into electricity. They are called solar panels because most of the time the most powerful

source of light available is the sun, called sol by astronomers. Some scientist call them

photovoltaic which means, basically, light electricity.

Bluetooth speaker is an amplifier and loudspeaker with Bluetooth wireless connectivity that is

paired (pre-associated) with one or more smart phones, tablets, iPod or computers.
Parts of speaker

Solar powered Bluetooth speaker is a speaker uses solar energy it gives you true freedom from

wires. A regular Bluetooth speaker is still tied down by the power cord energy time it has to be

charge.

Purpose of the Study

This study will make a solar powered Bluetooth speaker.
It will answer the following question:

1. What are the struggles in making the device?

2. What is the performance of the device in term of functionality, flexibility and safety?

Scope and delimitation

This study is focused on the design, development and construction of the solar powered

Bluetooth speaker. It is a device that converts solar energy to electric energy to make the

Bluetooth speaker work without AC power or 220V outlet. The study Includes the testing
of the performance, functionality, flexibility of the speaker and safety. The materials used

in the prototype device were recycled that can be found at home.

Significance of the Study

In this study we are able to learn a lot of important things that can help our

environment because this study is about making a solar powered Bluetooth speaker, this

device uses solar energy and solar energy is one of the cleanest renewable energy so it

avoids ultra violet rays.

The person that will benefit this study are the students and teachers for their

activities and presentations at school, and especially to music lovers because they can

play the music loudly without cost in electricity or AC power or 220V outlet

Design

Procedure

Step 1: get all the materials needed in these activity.

Step 2: cut a four sided board and put a hole on it to put the speaker.

Definition of terms
Solar energy- energy produced by the suns light or called as photons.

Ultra violet rays-

Renewable energy-
Thermal energy-
Photovoltaic- of, or utilizing the generation of a voltage when radiant energy falls on
the boundary between dissimilar substances (as two different semiconductors).

Review of the Related Literature and the Study
The Literature and the studies which are related and presented in this chapter are

likewise included are the synthesis of said-materials and definition of term.

Related Literature
According to Alexander William Gregory Devoto a portable Bluetooth stereo speaker including

a rechargeable battery coupled to power the Bluetooth stereo speaker, a solar panel coupled to

the rechargeable battery for recharging the battery when the solar panel is exposed to the

sunlight, a capacitive touch panel coupled to the Bluetooth stereo speaker for controlling music,

skip track or volume, and a Bluetooth phone or MP3 player wirelessly coupled to send their

music to the stereo speaker. A power boost function is coupled to the Bluetooth stereo speaker

which turns on automatically to supply extra power to the speaker for louder, clearer sound

playback when connected to an external charger.

Sunlight made of energy particles called photons. The photovoltaic cells have

semiconductor plates like silicon. When photons attack this plate, the electron gets knocked off

from the atoms. They are collected by metal plates and converted into a steady stream of

electricity. A couple of other components of the cell turn these electrons into usable power.

Metal conductive plates on the sides of the cells collect the electrons and transfer them to wires.

Photovoltaic cells are that convert solar energy to electricity. Solar panel is a framework of such

cells. Your Bluetooth speakers are powered by this seemingly simple process.

Every day the sun radiates a huge amount of energy called solar energy. Most

surprisingly, it radiates more energy in one day than the world uses in one year. Like most stars,

the sun is a big gas ball made up mostly of hydrogen and helium gas. The energy comes from its

inner core as a result of nuclear fusion. This energy takes just a little over eight minutes to travel

the 93 million miles to earth. Solar energy travels at the speed of light, or 3.0 10^8 meters per

second interestingly, a small part of the visible radiant energy that the sun emits into space

reaches the earth, but that is more than enough to supply all our energy needs. Every hour

enough solar energy reaches the earth to supply our nation’s energy needs for a year! Solar

energy is considered a renewable energy source due to this fact. Today, people use solar energy

to heat water and to generate electricity. In India, we are now considering our choices over

energy distribution and using the solar energy in full pace. But, here we are discussing about the

functionality and use of solar power and Bluetooth speaker. We will look on the various solar

powered Bluetooth speakers available in the market and review them according to our criteria.

But at first we have to know how this phenomenon is used in Bluetooth speaker.

you to take it almost anywhere without worrying about it getting damaged.

The Rugged Rukus also comes with a pair of full range speakers and a large solar panel that not

only charges the Rukus Speaker system, but it also allows you to charge other electronic devices

Synthesis of the art

The gathered related literature and studies were examining one by one to determine each

relationship to the present study in terms of principles.

The energy that is obtained from the sun was the essential life of the devices.

Furthermore, considering the main functionality of the devices in the cited studies which is to
charge the speaker is relevant to the present study since all these devices have the same major

purpose which is to conserve energy and use sources that can be found in nature.

Gap bridged by the study

Theoretical framework

The video-tech evolution has been swift and in-your-face. From the square little black-and-white

picture tube, we went to “in living color”, rear projection, and the flat- erring DLP, plasma, LCD,

and OLED. And on this display we’ve watched broadcast, cable, VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray,

and HD DVD (and the occasional porno – okay, that’s neither here nor there). Audio too has had

its share of corner-turning: We went from Victrola to mono to stereo to 7.1 surround sound.

But what of that more modest sonic tool, our boxy little friend, the loudspeaker? Dare we call it

“developmentally challenged?” Let’s be honest (and don’t worry, we can speak frankly- it’s just

us here): Haven’t most speakers price much looked alike in the past, say, 50 or sixty years (the

age, coincidentally, of Sound and Vision)? And have there really been any revolutionary audio

upgrades in recent decades? You might even wonder why speaker-makers keep makingnew

models!

The reality, though, is that the loudspeaker has indeed come the distance. True, its evolution

hasn’t been flashy: The pace of progress has been slow, and only in rare cases are new concepts

broadly adopted. But evolved it has. And we can prove it.
