INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

The Sampaguita petals ( Jasminum sambac) is the one that the researches chose,

Cause there are a lot of problems in clothing smell.

Perfumes, can lessen the unwanted odor from our body. Unfortunately, perfumes

nowadays are very much expensive especially those branded ones. Some perfumes,can cause

headache because of its fragrance..The fragrance of this perfumes are not soothing to smell for

some people. (Jasminum Sambac)

Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) extract has a unique smell that can solve bad clothing smell.

Sampaguitas ( Jasminum sambac)are normally selled in the church by vendors. But

sometimes it goes in waste because if the vendors will sell it again no more buyers are gonna be

interested In buying sampaguita because its not fresh anymore.

So instead of it going in waste scientists and dermatologists can solve the problem in

clothing smell. Sampaguita is the national flower of our country-Philippines.Sampaguita flowers

is commonly used as a garland for religious offerings.Sampaguita's distinct sweet,head fragrance

is its unique that can solve bad clothing smell.

Statement of the Problem

The main purpose of this study is to see if the sampaguita ( Jasminum sambac) petals

is useful in making the scent of the perfume smell good. Specifically, it seeks to answer

the FF.

Questions:

1.Does the extract of the sampaguita affect the scent of the perfume?

2.What will happen if you spray the finished product in the cloth?

Significance of the study

Sampaguita flowers if made into a perfume can lessen the expenses of people that will buy those

expensive perfumes. It can also replace those perfumes that are not soothing to smell for some

people because sampaguita's fragrance is believed to promote a feeling of well being.

Sampaguita is well known to our country.As matter of fact,it is our national flower.Sampaguita

flowers have sweet,heady fragrance and its fragrance can be made into a perfume.Sampaguita is

abundant around the Philippines,rural and urban areas.It can also be found near churhes because it

is made into a garlands.

 Scope and Limitations

The study proves the effectiveness of the sampaguita petals. This study

will focus only to the quality scent of the perfume. This study will only

be observed in 24 hours.

Review of Literature
Sampaguita is a very sweet scented flower and it the scientific name Sampaguita is

(Jasminum sambac) . Last January 19, more than 2, k-pop fans as gathered for the Dream k-pop

fantasy concerts at the Mall of Asia, Filipino fans are really happy seeing their k-pop Roses can

be grown in any good, well-drained soil, warm temperatures and the rose grows best when not

set among other plants.

Definition of Terms
Odor- ( Bromhidrosis)- Is the smell of bacteria growing in the body.
Sampaguita ( Jasminum sambac)- A plant that grows in tropic regions.
 Chapter 2 METHODOLOGY

Materials Needed
250 ml of water and 2 grams of sampaguita petals, mortar and pestle, Strainer, three spray
bottles, Sampaguita petals.

A. Procedure
B. The two grams of sampaguita will be crushed in a mortar and pestle. And the crushed

Sampaguita will be squeezed in a cloth.

B. Three spray bottles that will have concentrations of sampaguita extract.

C. After, the crushed sampaguita petals it will be air dried in the roof and the remaining extract
will be mixed into boiling water for 5 minutes.

D. And the researchers will wait until, the sampaguita is not sticky anymore after air drying it on
the roof.

B. Preperation of set up

Prepare your’e sampaguita (Jasminum Sambac) Mortar and pestle,Clean cloth, Water, three
spray bottles.

C. Conducting experiment

The researchers conducted the experiment at one of the researchers residence.

D. Observing and recording data

An observation with the researchers was done to see if the hypothesis is positive or null

hypothesis. They will record data to have a brief conclusion.

 Chapter 3 Results and Discussion

RESPONDENTS SMELL Days

Spray bottle 1 Fragrant but not strong Left for 3 days

Spray bottle 2 Fragrant but not strong Left for 2 days

Spray bottle 3 Fragrant and strong Left for 5 days

Discussion

According to the product that we made, it was fragrant and applicable to all people since it was

natural and organic, But we cant say it is better than the perfumes that are using chemicals since

its smell cant last longer thang them. We also cant say that the sampaguita perfume is better than

the other organic perfumes that are using oils like lemongrass, neroli and etc.

Chapter 4
Conclusion: Therefore we conclude that our hypothesis was correct

Recommendations: We recommend the future researchers to ask more information from people

who have experienced making perfume like dermatologists.
