SKILL LEVEL – Easy

MATERIALS
• 13 x 13 in. (33 x 33 cm) piece of
cardboard or cardstock
• Sharp scissors
• Craft glue

WREATH
Cut 3 circles from cardboard: one 10 in. (25.5 cm) in diameter, the other two about
2 in. (6 cm) in diameter.

Tip
Trace around an object in your house to make the circles – a dinner plate can work
for the larger circle, a can or drinking glass for the smaller.

Draw or trace a circle about 8 in. (20.5 cm) in diameter in the center of the 10 in.
(25.5 cm) circle. Cut out this inner circle, then set the piece aside – this will be the
base of your Wreath.

POMPOMS
#1 Trace around a coin to draw a circle about 1 in. (2.5 cm) in diameter in the center
of one of the smaller cardboard circles.
Cut a pie shaped wedge from the outside edge of the cardboard circle to the marked
line for the inner circle, then continue to cut out the inner circle.
Repeat this process with the remaining smaller cardboard circle.

Cut a 10 in. (45.5 cm) strand of yarn for the pompom tie.

#2 Hold the 2 small cardboard circles together, aligning the cut out wedges. Bring
yarn through the wedge opening, wrapping through the inner circle and around the
outside edge of the cardboard shape.
Continue wrapping the yarn – the more wraps, the thicker your pompom will be!

When you’re finished wrapping, cut the yarn.

Then, carefully slide your scissors between the 2 cardboard circles and carefully
snip the yarn wraps.

#3 When all of the wraps are cut, slide the pompom tie between the cardboard
circles and tie tightly in a double knot.
Gently slide the cardboard circles off your pompom.

#4 Holding the pompom tie, shake your pompom into shape, then trim any uneven
yarn ends.

Make as many pompoms as you like!

ASSEMBLY
Lay the cardboard Wreath base onto a flat working surface.
Apply glue to a small section of the Wreath, then adhere pompoms as desired.

Continue to apply glue and then pompoms until you’re happy with your Wreath, then
set aside to allow glue to dry.
Knot a length of yarn around the Wreath to use as a hanging loop.
