Brief description of answers:

1-ROM;
Rom stand for read only memory. It is a semiconductor memory that is capable of
operating at electronics speed. It is a non-volatile memory data is stored in it when the
power is turned off. Ram holds instruction that the computer need to operate. The data
stored in rom can neither be erased nor replaced. This means permanent and secure data
storage. It is called read only memory as we can only read the programs and data stored
in it but cannot write on it.
2-communications devices;
Communications devices are the most common type of devices that can perform both
input and output. These devices connect one computer to another a process known as
“networking”. The most common type of communication devices are modems, which
enable computers to communicate through telephones lines or cables television systems,
And network interface cards (NICs), which let users connect a group of computers to share
data and devices.
3-application software;
Application software is any group of programs designed for the computer users. It tells
the computer how to accomplish specific tasks, such as word processing or drawing, for
the user. Thousands of application software are available for many purposes and for
people of all stages. Application software has really proliferated since cross-platform
software has become more popular. Some of the examples of application software are
word processor, a spread sheet, an accounting application, a web browser, an e-mail
client and a media player etc.
4-Terabyte;
The terabyte is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information .the prefix Tera
represents the four power of 1000, and means 10^12 in the international system of units
(SI), and therefore one terabyte is one trillion. the symbol for terabyte is TB. Terabyte are
most oftenly used to measure the storage capacity of large storage devices, while hard
disk are measure in gigabytes for many years. A terabyte is more precisely defined as
1,024 gigabytes (GB), while petabyte consists of 1,024 TB. For example, typical internal
HDD may hold 2 TB of data.
5-Monitor;
3
Monitor is the most commonly used output device. The computer sends output to the
monitor (the display screen) when the user only need to see the output. A monitor usually
comprises the display device, circuitry casing, and power supply. Older computer were
used cathode ray tube (CRT). Which made them large, heavy and inefficient. Nowadays,
flat-screen LCD monitors are used in devices like laptops, PDAs and desktop computer
because they are lighter and more energy efficient. A monitor is also known as a screen or
a visual display unit (VDU). The quality of monitor depend on Aspect ratio, dot pitch,
display resolution and size etc.

6-Hard disk;
A hard disk is a non-volatile computer storage device containing magnetic disks or platter
s rotating at a high speeds. It is a secondary storage device used to store data permanently.
Hard disk is also known as a hard drive. The disk moves at an accelerated rate, allowing
data to be accessed immediately. All computer used to have an internal disk for storage.
There are two general types of hard disk which is, hard disk drive (HDD) and solid states
drive (SSD). The SSD have no any moving mechanical parts. A hard disk cannot be removed
from the computer.

7-Document;
A document is a form of information. A document can be out in to an electronic form and
stored in a computer as one or more files. Often a single document become a single file. A
document is a unit of saved work. Each document is saved as a uniquely named file. To
document a fact, event, or other thing is to record it meaning to put it into some relatively
permanent form so that it can be retrieve later. We can make our document using word,
excel, docs, drobox and sugar sync etc.

8-Digital computers;
In today’s life, digital computers can be seen everywhere. Digital computers are so called
because they work “by the numbers”. That is, they break all types of information into small
units, uses numbers to represent those pieces of information. Digital computer also work
in very strict steps, processing each unit of information individually, according to the highly
organized instruction they must follow. If we look at analogue computers comparatively,
we may find it totally different from digital computers. Digital computers represent data
in binary format (0 or 1), while analogue computers represent data as a point langue a
continues spectrum of values. They were not more efficient as digital computers.
Examples of digital computers are IBM, pc apple Macintosh as well as modern
smartphones etc.

9-digital video disc;

4
It is a type of optical storage device. DVDs can hold a minimum of 4.7 GB of data and as
much as 17 GB. DVD drives also can locate data on the disc much faster than standard CD-
ROM drives. DVD can store more data as compared to compact disk (CD). DVDs are widely
used for storing and viewing movies, TV shows, video gaming etc. The medium can store
any kind of digital data and is widely used for software and other computer file as well as
video programs watched using DVD player. DVD was invented by Sony, Panasonic,
Samsung, Toshiba, and Philips. It has a weight of almost 16 grams.

10-presentation software;
A presentation program is a software package used to display information in the form of a
slid show. Microsoft power point is an example of presentation software. But there are
alternative such as open office.org impress. Apple’s keynote and WPS etc. These programs
make it simple and often fun to create a presentation for your audience. They contain a text
editor to add your written content; they support charts and graphics image such as
photographs, clip art or other objects to enliven your slideshow and get your across crispy.
Presentation software can either running locally on a computer or remotely over the
internet.
