The S.T.C., a premier International Trading Company under the administrative control of Ministry of
Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce is engaged in exports, imports and domestic trading
operations in a wide variety of commodities operating in competition with national and global companies
both among Private and Public Sector. STC invites applications from talented and professional
persons for the following positions (in the categories as mentioned against each position) for posting
at Corporate Office/ Offices of the company anywhere in India.
- For those working in PSUs/Govt, minimum three years experience in the pay scale of
`43200–66000/- (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on 31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-
equivalency documents must be enclosed)
- For candidates from MNCs / Private organisations, minimum three years experience at
minimum CTC of `15 Lakhs (approx.) per annum, as on 31.01.2011.
The incumbent will be responsible for formulation of Personnel policies and other
strategies at the Corporate level to achieve the Organizational goals. He/She will also be
responsible for coordinating and implementing Personnel Policies, Industrial Relations,
HRD, Training & Development, Corporate Communications, Estate & Administration etc.

Essential/ Desirable MBA / PG Degree / Diploma with specialization in Marketing / International Trade from a
Qualifications recognized Indian University / Institute besides having basic degree in any discipline. (In
case of Distance Education / part time course, the duration must be of three years)
Experience & Job Minimum 15 years (as on 31.01.2011) of post-qualification experience in managerial cadre
Description out of which 8-10 years preferably in Marketing / International Trading in any Government
/ Public sector / Autonomous Body / MNCs or organization of repute.
- For those working in PSUs/Govt minimum two years experience in the pay scale of
`36600–62000 (I.D.A) OR minimum three years experience in the pay scale of `32900–
58000 (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on 31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-equivalency

- For candidates from MNCs/ Private organizations should have minimum two years
experience at minimum CTC of `13 Lakhs (approx.) per annum, as on 31.01.2011.
The incumbent is required to devise ways to boost International trade and formulate and
execute Corporate policies, plans and strategies for International trade.
- For those working in PSUs/Govt minimum two years experience in the pay scale of
`36600–62000 (I.D.A) OR minimum three years experience in the pay scale of `32900–
58000 (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on 31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-equivalency

(Information Technology) approximately at the minimum
of the scale.
Essential/ Desirable MBA in Systems/Information Technology, or an equivalent degree/PG Diploma/PG
Qualifications Degree from a recognized Indian University / Institute, along with
B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc in Computer Science/IT with First Class or minimum 60% marks
in aggregate or equivalent grades. (In case of Distance Education / part time course, the
duration must be of three years)
The candidate should have worked in a decision-making level with regards to managing
the IT portfolio or Enterprise Applications System in a company of repute.
Experience & Job Minimum 12 years (as on 31.01.2011) of relevant post qualification executive experience
Description (with at least 5 years at middle-management level positions) in any Government/ Public
Sector / Autonomous body / MNCs or organisation of repute.
The incumbent will be responsible for the Planning, Designing, Development and
Implementation of IT Services in STC and playing an active role in Change Management
during implementation of IT systems, inter-alia, including the coordination with IT
vendors, consultants, user divisions & branches of STC for development & implementation
of IT applications on identified platforms (such as ERP), ensuring smooth availability and
operation of IT applications, managing changes required after implementation of IT
applications, managing SLAs with IT vendors, developing MIS and ensuring regular
reporting, planning and imparting training to users and internal IT team and planning any
additional upgradation in IT infrastructure covering additional applications.
(i) The Legal department of Public Sector /Government organization, with minimum two
years experience in the pay scale of `32900-58000/- (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on
31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-equivalency documents must be enclosed) OR
(ii) A Solicitor’s / Advocate’s firm of repute. Experience in the Solicitor’s/Advocate’s firm
of repute will be reckoned from enrolment with Bar Council, as on 31.01.2011 OR
The candidates should be well versed with Commercial laws, Labour Law, Tax Laws and
Corporate Laws. The job involves handling legal functions such as drafting of legal
documents, advising Trade/Services Divisions on legal matters and Coordination with SG /
ASG / Senior Counsels on legal issues etc.
The incumbent is required co-ordinate with the GM(Mktg.) and CGM(Mktg.) to devise
ways to boost International trade and formulate and execute Corporate policies, plans and
strategies for International trade.
The incumbent will coordinate with the top-management on Finance and Accounts work
including Corporate planning and Financial planning, and assisting the Management in
implementing Financial policies and procedures; Design, develop and implement
accounting systems; Administrative and Establishment matters; Financial appraisals of
Trade; Fund Management and tax matters; Finalization of Accounts; Internal Audits etc.
- For those working in PSUs/Govt, minimum two years experience in the pay scale of
`29100–54500 (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades, as on 31.01.2011 (Relevant grade-
equivalency documents must be enclosed)
- For candidates from MNCs / Private organisations, minimum two years experience at
minimum CTC of `10 Lakhs approximately per annum, as on 31.01.2011.
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating with the Management for formulation
& implementation of Personnel policies and other strategies at the Corporate level to
achieve the Organizational goals.
- For those working in PSUs/Govt. minimum two years experience in the pay scale of
`24900–50500 (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on 31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-
equivalency documents must be enclosed)
- For candidates from MNCs/ Private organizations should have minimum two years
experience at minimum CTC of `8.4 Lakhs (approx.) per annum, as on 31.01.2011.
The incumbent will assist the Management in implementing Financial policies and
procedures; Design, develop and implement accounting systems; Administrative and
Establishment matters; Financial appraisals of Trade; Fund Management and tax matters;
Finalization of Accounts; Internal Audits etc
- For those working in of Public Sector / Govt. organizations, minimum two years
experience in the pay scale of `12600-32500/- (I.D.A) or its equivalent grades as on
31.01.2011. (Relevant grade-equivalency documents must be enclosed)
In addition to pay-scale, the above posts (Post Codes 01 to 10) carry benefits such as HRA, Leave
Encashment, Leave Travel Concession (LTC/ALTC), Medical Facilities, Provident Fund, Gratuity,
Performance-Related Pay and reimbursement charges for Conveyance, Newspapers, Entertainment,
Telephone etc as per rules of the Company.
3. Selected candidates will be required to serve in any office of the Corporation or its subsidiaries or
successor.
5. Incomplete applications, applications not sent in prescribed format, applications not conforming to
the eligibility requirements, applications received after the last date prescribed, unsigned
applications and applications sent without relevant grade-equivalency documents (as applicable) will
be summarily rejected. If the candidate does not fulfill any of the conditions given in the
Employment Notice, his/her candidature will be cancelled at any stage on scrutiny whenever the
discrepancy is noticed.
6. The vacancies shown above are provisional and liable to be increased or decreased or may even be
reduced to nil in which case STC is not liable to compensate the applicant for the consequential
damages if any.

of the recruitment process. While STC will exercise every care to avoid errors in the conduct of all

8. In case of a candidate having requisite qualification & age, the condition with regards to
CTC/experience in lower-grade may be relaxed at the discretion of the Management.
9. Those who have qualifications equivalent to any of the prescribed qualifications should produce
certificate from the concerned University certifying that the said Degree/ Diploma is equivalent to
the particular Degree of the University. Applications without the authoritative equivalency certificate
as said above will not be considered.
10. Outstation candidates called for interview for Post code 01 will be reimbursed single to-and-fro
economy class airfare by shortest route, and those called for interview for Post codes 02 to 10 will be
reimbursed single to and fro Second A.C rail fare by shortest route on production of original
tickets/copy of E-tickets.
11. The cut of date for considering the age and experience of candidates will be taken as 31.01.2011.

Applications received by speed post or registered post or through courier will not be accepted.
