Task 3: Project Report

1.0 Introduction

In today’s era of globalisation, the use of technology in education has created more
educational opportunities to pupils and teacher (Anderson et al, 2001). Educational
field such as digital learning innovation can gives benefits in smoothen the teaching
and learning process, where the content can be delivered in ways that attract the
pupils’ attention and ease the teacher’s role as an instructor (Kooohang et al, 2007).

Based on the Story Kit Project that has been produced and evaluated, it is
founded that the project has some strengths which will help and support the pupils’
need in education based on the syllabus of primary school curriculum standard
(KSSR). However, there are also some weakness founded in the project which need
to be improvised for a better education.

2.0 Evaluation of The Story Kit

The Story Kit has been used and tried by some of the people. There are some positive
feedback given by them which helped them in gaining and arousing the interest in
reading among the young learners. The project which includes animation able to grab
the young learners’ attention which can help them to stay focus and have their
attention. This is because animation and visuals help in lengthen the attention span of
the children (…., 000). The pupils can easily understand the audio and the dialogue as
the pronunciation is clear and understandable.
Next, this innovation project can overcome the problem of monitoring the pupils’
view and knowledge about the short story. The use of Quizizz application which
automatically sort out the marks and pupils’ performance saves a lot of time for
teachers and able to help the teacher to track on the pupils’ progressions. This project
can help the teacher in identifying the pupils’ weaknesses and also the pupils’ strength
and intelligence in a particular topic.
This project gives quite an impact towards the teaching and learning process.
The pupils feel more motivated and enjoy the learning of the short story. They
eventually let themselves learn the elements in the short story which can improve their
language skills.
However, there are some weaknesses that can be found in the project. One of
it is the animation used which is by using Toontastic. The teacher should plan to create
the video more systematically and neatly. The teacher can ask other people’s voice to
read the dialogue in the animation to prevent boredom among the young learners.
Another weakness that can be found is the questions given in the Quizizz which
is also based on the short story. The questions may not be enough for the pupils as
the limited questions cannot test their comprehensions better. The teacher should add
on more questions on the short story to ensure that the children can remember better
and know their level of comprehension of the story.

3.0 Conclusion

In conclusion, the materials, qualities and contents used in the LO are still suitable for
the pupils to be used as it meets the objectives of the learning.
However, there are aspects that need to be improvised so that the LO can be
used efficiently for the pupils, where the pupils’ excitement can be triggered in the
learning of the topic.
