GEMINI SERVICE ENGINE NEWSLETTER COMPANY NUMBER 5 oATE 9-1-82 Now as standard equipment on single stage Gemini Compressors using 2" and 2 1/2" single acting cylinders are pistons with changeable clearance plugs. These plugs adjust the height of the piston crown and are marked "A", "B", and in order of increasing clearance. They may be interchanged by removing the compressor valve and thread- ing the plugs in or out with a 1/2" square drive socket extension. This arrangement should allow more pressure conditions to be handled by limiting flow and will become effective on unit #8906, (approxi~ mately June 15, 1982). Older units with the single piece, non-clearanceable pistons can be fitted with the clearance piston assembly by ordering 425-232 for the 2" or 425-233 for the 2 1/2". ‘These assemblies include the piston, three plugs and O-Rings. Since the old pistons must be replaced with the new ones, a new set of piston rings should also be installed.
