PROJECT: ALTERATION OF TWO STORY HOUSE

SPECIFICATION

SECTION 1
GENERAL PROVISIONS
SCOPE OF WORKS. The work included under this specifications comprises the furnishings of
the materials, tools, labor and equipments, and performs all the necessary operations to complete the
proposed construction of a residential building.
WORMANSHIP AND MATERIALS. Defective material or materials with signs that would
probably impair the strength and appearance of the applied part shall not be used in any portion of
the project. All materials shall be approved by the Owner and the Architect, Contractor.
All works shall be the accordance of with the manufacturer’s specification or the standard
procedures of the particular work. Workmanship should be of the best possible quality that be
attained.
SAFETY AND SANITATION. All works shall be done in such a manner that safety measures shall
be maintained at all times for the protection of the workers and other persons within the job site. All
construction waste and personal waste of the workers must be disposed off regularly in the most safe
and sanitary means.

SECTION 2
EXCAVATIONS
FOOTINGS. No footing shall rest on fill, where the excavation done in accordance with the
drawings reveal that the safe bearing capacity is not reached, it shall be carried deeper until such
require bearing capacity is attained.
Whenever, water is encountered, it shall be removed provided that the surrounding earth will
not be disturb.
FILLINGS. All filing and back filling materials shall be placed in layers not exceeding 15
centimeters in thickness. Each layer shall be thoroughly compacted by wetting, tampering of rolling
before the next layer is spread.

SECTION 3
ALTERATION
Alteration in any walls or additional lay-out of door and windows shall be done by a cutting
tool (angle grinder) and manually use by a moil tool and be handled with precaution on the wall.
BEAM BLOCKING on the trim of any additional door or window after the said lay-out is done will give
additional strength to the lay-out.

Beams and post using I-BEAMS shall conforms to the ASTM “Standard Specification and Testing of
Materials”. Specific application to assure repeatability by properly trained welders. Post
shall seat on a .30x.30x.80 pedestal

Second floor slab using steel deck and Reinforcing bars should be deformed and conforms to the ASTM
“Standard Specification and Testing of Materials” (for reinforcing bars). Specific application to
assure repeatability by properly trained welders

SECTION 4
CONCRETE AND MASONRY
MATERIALS. Cement to be used shall be any Portland cement that conforms to the ASTM
“Standard Specification and Testing of Materials” (Portland Cement). Aggregates should be clean,
durable, strong and uncoated, free from delirious substances. Water to be used for mixing concrete
should be free from oil, acid, alkali, vegetable matters and should reasonably clear and clean. Sea or
brackish water is not allowed.
Reinforcing bars should be deformed and conforms to the ASTM “Standard Specification and
Testing of Materials” (for reinforcing bars).
CONCRETE PROPORTIONS. The following concrete proportions for the various parts of the of
the words.

WORKMANSHIP. Mixing of concrete shall be done in standard procedure of mixing by hand or


machine mixers. Precaution must be taken so as not allow foreign materials on the mixed concrete as
the process of mixing and pouring goes on. Concrete to be mixed shall only in qualities as may be
requires for immediate use. Concrete that has attained initial set shall be properly cured until it
hardens.

CHB walling should be plastered done in two coats, the scratch or based coat should have the
thickness from 3/8” to 1” and it should be well trowel into the base to obtain a thorough bond or key.
The finish coat should not be applied until at least one week after the application of the base coat.
Mortar mixture should be class “B” (1:3) consisting on bag of cement and 3 cu.ft. of sand.

SECTION 5
CARPENTRY
MATERIALS. Lumber should be a good quality for the respective kind and specie specified
herein, well seasoned and free from knots, shakes or other imperfections which may impair its
strength, durability and appearance.
WORMANSHIP. Any specie of wood may be substituted upon the approval of the Architect.
Wood members in contact with or embedded in concrete shall be protected with two coats of
hot asphalt or coal tar.

SECTION 6
PLUMBING
MATERIALS. All pipes use for draining waste and vents shall be of approved brand of uPVC and
PPR pipes on all water lines. All fixtures shall be a product of “American Standard” or any equivalent
brand approved by the Architect.
WORKMANSHIP. All joints shall be applied with water tight or solvent cement. All horizontal
pipes shall run in practical alignment and uniform grade of not less than 2% slope. All stocks shall be
properly supported at their base and all the pipes shall be rigidly secured. All joints of protruding pipes
through roof shall be done under direct supervision of a registered Master Plumber.

SECTION 7
ELECTRICAL
MATERIALS. All materials and fixtures be the type approved by the Owner and Electrical
Engineer –in – charge of installations.
WORKMANSHIP. All electrical installation shall be in accordance with the drawings and
specifications found in the electrical sheet, and be done under the direct supervision of a registered
Electrical Engineer or Master Electrician.

Convenience outlet 0.30 meter above finish floor line
Light Switches 1.40 meter above finish floor line
SECTION 8
COMPLETION OF PROJECT
Upon completion of the project functional and ready to used by the Occupant/Owner.
