Cooperatives can form a Primary Cooperative or a Secondary Cooperative.

 The differences between Primary and Secondary Cooperatives are located in

"membership": The members of primary cooperative is a person and the members of
secondary cooperative consists of organization or Cooperative itself. With another
understanding, the Secondary Cooperative is formed by several Primary Cooperatives
which then merge into one and form a new cooperative.
o Primary Cooperatives are formed by at least 20 (twenty) persons.
o Secondary Cooperative Is a cooperative consisting of a combination of cooperative
bodies and has a wide scope of work area compared with primary cooperatives.
Secondary cooperatives can be divided into:

• central cooperative - is a cooperative consisting of at least 5 primary cooperatives

• a combination of cooperatives - is a cooperative whose members are at least 3 central
cooperatives
• cooperative parent - is a cooperative whose minimum membership is 3 cooperative
joints

 The initial balance sheet and capital deposit marks are at least Rp 5,000,000 (five million rupiahs)
for primary cooperatives and Rp.15,000,000 (fifteen million rupiahs) for secondary cooperatives
derived from principal savings, compulsory, grants.
• Especially for KSP / USP should has deposit of own capital of at least Rp. 15.000.000 (fifteen
million rupiahs) for primary cooperatives and Rp.50.000.000 (fifty million rupiah) for secondary
cooperatives in the form of deposits at state banks.

Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) Sahabat Mitra Sejati (d/h Koperasi Mitra Sejati), berkedudukan
di Jakarta, merupakan Koperasi dengan ijin nasional yang didirikan berdasarkan akta pendirian
yang telah dibuat dan disahkan oleh Menteri Negara Koperasi Usaha Kecil dan Menengah
Republik Indonesia dengan Surat Keputusan No.307/BH/MENEG.I/IX/2003 pada tanggal 30
September 2003. Selanjutnya dilakukan perubahan Anggaran Dasar Koperasi yang dituangkan
melalui Akta Notaris H.Rizul Sudarmadi, SH No.42 tanggal 9 Desember 2008 dimana Akta
Notaris ini telah diterima dan dicatat oleh Kementerian Negara Koperasi dan Usaha Kecil dan
Menengah Republik Indonesia dengan surat No.267/DEP.1.1/XII/2008 tanggal 16 Desember
2008.

Koperasi mulai melakukan kegiatan operasional secara aktif melalui Unit Simpan Pinjam sejak
Februari 2009. Pada tahap awal Koperasi melakukan ekspansi usaha ke area Jawa Timur dengan
membuka jaringan kantor cabang di 5 lokasi, yaitu Jombang, Malang, Blitar, Tulung Agung dan
Lamongan. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengembangan lebih lanjut ke wilayah Sumatera, Kalimantan,
Sulawesi dan Papua. Koperasi didukung oleh Grup Sampoerna Strategic dengan memberikan
dukungan modal untuk menjalankan aktivitasnya.
 Dalam rangka untuk mensinergikan aktivitas yang ada dan tumbuh lebih cepat, maka di bulan
Agustus 2011, Koperasi Mitra Sejati melakukan sinergi dan kolaborasi bisnis dengan PT Bank
Sahabat Sampoerna dalam bentuk pembiayaan.

Dalam menjalankan aktivitasnya memberikan dukungan permodalan kepada para pengusaha

mikro, kecil dan menengah, hingga akhir Desember 2015 Koperasi telah tumbuh cukup pesat
menjadi 122 cabang yang tersebar diseluruh Indonesia.
