EYAA COHORT 1 ALUMNI CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:

Regional Capacity Building and Orientation Workshop


eMpowering Youth Across ASEAN Programme Cohort II.
(EYAAP Cohort II)

The eMpowering Youth Across ASEAN Programme is looking for a potential alumni
candidate from the EYAA Cohort 1 to be as a resource person at the alumni sharing session of
the Regional Capacity Building and Orientation Workshop on 2 March 2020 at Chulalongkorn
University, Bangkok, Thailand.
The purpose of the alumni sharing is to share their story, insights, and what they did and achieve
in the EYAA Cohort 1 community project implementation. The session also would provide an
overview of the EYAA Cohort II participants about what to expect during the community
project implementation. Also, the session will assist participants to better prepare for their
upcoming community project implementation.
The requirements and the scope of work of the resource person will be as followed:
Role of a Resource Person:
1. To share their story about their prior experience when implementing the community
project. The alumni also will share lessons learned, best practices and challenges, too.
2. To provide insights/ knowledge to the participants regarding the project that has been
previously implemented.
3. To provide tips and tricks to live in the local community.
The selected alumni will be required to prepare a ppt presentation in consultation with the
ASEAN Foundation and Maybank Foundation
Eligibility:
1. Has fully participated in EYAA initiative Cohort 1
2. Available to be a speaker on 3 March 2020
3. Holds a valid passport.
4. Submits a 500-word essay and CV (which may include presentation experience and any
other relevant experience)
5. English proficient, verbal and written
Specific Eligibility
 The alumni who have participated in the project showcase in Vientiane, Lao PDR and
Jakarta, Indonesia, are not eligible.
Essay Guideline:
Write a 500-word long essay that explains the following points:

 Why are you eligible to be chosen as a resource person for the sharing session in EYAA
2020 and how your experience of participating in the EYAA Cohort 1 has contributed
to your success in your life?
 Brief session design and methodology that you will use in delivering the materials for
the sharing session
The essay should be no longer than 500 words and is written in full English. Please send the
essay in word document and name the file with the following format: (YOUR NAME)

Evaluation Criteria:
 Demonstrated leadership, entrepreneurship and best practices.
 Demonstrated personal commitment to principles and values of fairness, equality and
equity
 Have commendable aspirations to create future impact.
Other consideration includes:
 Availability to attend the workshop
The selected alumni must meet the following eligibility requirement to be considered for the
travel scholarship.
1) The selected alumni must be able to arrive by 2 March 2020 and depart no later than 4
March 2020. The accommodation we offer you are 2 nights from 2 March 2020 (Check
in) to 4 March 2020 (Check out). If you want to stay in Bangkok, Thailand for more
than 2 nights, you will need to book extra accommodation and pay by yourself.
