Caste System is Applicable in Mobility?

Human behavior is conceived of as an outcome of characteristics, past learning experiences,

motivational states, psycho-social antecedents, and the cultural context in which it unfolds Culture plays
a complex role in the natural history and psycho-social development of human behavior comprising of
customs, beliefs, values, knowledge, and skills. Social norms, the shared rules that specify appropriate
and inappropriate behaviors; mores, that people consider vital to their well-being and to their most
cherished values, and sanctions, the socially imposed rewards and punishments that compel people to
comply with norms, constitute important ingredients of a culture. Orlandi et al. (1992), define culture
as shared values, beliefs, norms, traditions, customs, art, history, folklore, and institutions of a group
of people. A society which is a cohesive group of people shares all the ingredients of the culture among
its members.

Although the political and social force of the caste system has not disappeared completely, the
Indian government has officially outlawed caste discrimination and made widespread reforms.
Particularly through the efforts of Indian nationalists such as Mohandas Gandhi, rules preventing social
mobility and cross-caste mingling have been loosened. The Indian subcontinent has been likened to a
deep net into which various races and people have drifted and been caught in the remote past and
their diverse origins have dictated variety. Anu Ramdas Themyth of the brahmin svabhava or the
constructed essence of inborn supremacism is maintained by a constantly evolving racist ideology about
the distinctness of brahmins. The brahmin essence is fabricated through a complex interplay of self-
racialization and racialization of the others, through which the brahmins constitute themselves as the
perpetual ruling class of the caste society with full control over social discourses and material resources.
Contemporary supremacist movements against reservation and the caste census are examined for proof
of the continuity of the myth of the brahmin svabhava. This paper uses the Manusrmiti as the evidential
repository of self-racialization of the brahmin and it does not concern itself with the origins of the myth
but with the sociology of its maintenance and focuses on the material and social manifestations of the
brahmin svabhava. I understand that caste system is not applicable in mobility because caste is a force
of occupation based on your birth. Untouchable must convert to Islam and Christianity which gives
equal right, rights compared to caste ridden Hinduism. I have a one friend from India in Zamindar
Community and he miggrates here in the Philippines and he stay now for 13 years. His parents they
said “ If you saw any Dalit been discriminated in any form you would not let that happen.” And the
good thing is that now the new generation is far away from caste system, it’s just those few losers left
to die alone with that mentality. They suffered from many economic problems. They had to face
economic hardships and they were not given proper reward for their service. Traditionally untouchables
were deprived of landed property of their own. They were not allowed to carry on any business. They
were not permitted to engage themeselves in the professions which were being carried out by the
people of other castes. The untouchables were not to choose any occupations according to their own
ability they had to clean the streets, remove dead cattle, and to undertake heavy agricultural work.
Mostly theywere landless labourers. They worked in the fields of high-caste Hindus as labourers.

Racism, xenophobia and intolerance are problems prevalent in all societies. But every day, each
and every one of us can stand up against racial prejudice and intolerant attitudes. What we could
have to do is respect each other.Respect is a comprehensive term, and it is interpreted in many ways.
Your actions mostly earn you respect, but it is always important to remember that it is a two-way
street. It is considered ethical behavior, but in this day and age, people are becoming more evil and
selfish. When you respect a person, then the person also respects you. The three vital things to have
respect for is, respect oneself, respect for others and respect for property. There usually is a strive to
teach about respect. Hence, you will find parents teaching their children, teachers too; as well as

religious leaders educating the society. Everybody deserves respect regardless of their gender, age,
race or their beliefs. Respect is what every human being should wish to have in their lives as many do
not possess it and very few give it. If you agree with it or not, respect should be part of everyone’s
life. If we all learned to respect one another, the world would be a better place. Start by reading this
respect essay and strive to apply some of the aspects covered in your own life. “The world of ours
must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation
of mutual trust and respect.” is a quote spoken by Dwight D. Eisenhower
