Annual Light-Up Micanopy 4-H

Cookie Bake-off
Rules and Regulations
Our annual 4-H cookie bake off and community service project will
begin on December 10th, 2010. Each club member is encouraged to
participate by baking their favorite cookie recipes (recipes can be
tried and true family recipes or something they found in a cook book
or on-line recipe site.) Cookies will be judged by community leaders
and then served to the community as a service project for Light-Up
Micanopy. Entries must be received at the elementary school no later
than 5:00 p.m. on December 10th for the initial judging. Please
provide 5 cookies from each entry to be tasted by the judges (and an
extra for Santa). Each entry should be identified by a removable tag
with name, age, cookie category and cookie title/name (see label on
back). Judges will only know entry by a number, which will be
assigned when cookies are delivered. Also attached should be a copy
of the recipe used. Cookies will be judged on taste, texture and
appearance.

Refrigerator Cookies
Molded Cookies
Bar Cookies
(All the above categories must be made with flour and baked in an
oven.)
Non-baked cookies (not baked in an oven)
Home-made candies
Sugar Free Cookies
( No boxed mixes please! )
Adult Entries – Favorite Holiday Cookie (to be judged as a taster’s
choice award)
Awards:
Trophies will be awarded for:
Best Overall Cookie or Candy - Top overall scoring entry
Best Decorative Display - Will be judged at Light-Up Micanopy
Best Decorated Cookie - Most Creatively Decorated Cookie
Tasters Choice – Adult Entry
Ribbons awarded for:
1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age category represented in each
cookie category
Every 4-H’er will be recognized for their participation.
Cash premiums will be awarded for 1st place - $3.00, 2nd place -
$2.00, 3rd place - $1.00. Additional cash awards for overall winners.
You may enter any category as many times as you wish, but will only
be eligible for one award per category.
Please bring at least 2 dozen of each entry directly to Light-Up
Micanopy on December 11th by 5:00p.m. If you cannot attend Light-
Up Micanopy, please make arrangements for your cookies to be
delivered by another 4-Her.
Adults should bring their 2 dozen cookies directly to the judging on
Friday evening so Tasters Choice can be set up.
Decorative displays will be judged on creativity and overall
appearance. These should be delivered directly to Micanopy in front
of Coffee and Cream on the 11th before 4:30p.m.
