ACTION PLAN in Reading

Project Title: Program: BOOKSHELF


Books Offer One to millions of Knowledge, Seek High reading Enjoyment for Lifelong Fruitfulness found in a bookshelf
Problem Statement: 68.88% or 186 students of the total of 270 of the population are classified under the Instructional level
and 12.96% or 35 students under Independent level during the diagnostic tests.
Project Objective Statement: The following prepared activities aim to increase the number of Independent readers. Targeting
at least 93 students under Instructional level to be promoted as Independent readers by March 2020. Its objective is to improve
the number of independent readers from 35 to at least 128 students.
Root Cause: Lack of interest and low initiative to involve themselves to different reading activities are the primary causes of
low level reading skills.

REading Aid for a Developed and Equipped Reader
Problem Statement: 18.14 % or 49 students of the total of 270 of the population are classified under the Frustration level
during the diagnostic tests.
Project Objective Statement: By March 2020, the 17 male and 9 female readers from Grade 7, 15 male and 6 female readers
from Grade 8, 1 male from Grade 11 and 12 all included in the cases of frustration readers reach the Instructional level of
reading skill.
Root Cause: Lack of interest and low initiative to involve themselves to different reading activities are the primary causes of
low level reading skills.
Teacher-Student (Tutorial): 1 Teacher: 3 students
Progress Report (Tutor): The update on students’ Reading Speed and Comprehension level provided by the tutor teacher
twice a month. Every second and fourth Friday of the month.
