kit on which from my understanding was piston/rings cylinders and spacer. He rode
it for 2 hrs and said it seized for a little. He went out bought a brand new sled
and I ended up with this one. It starts up runs like crap light blinking 5 times
egt. I am just starting to dig into this thing and can already see right piston
scored imagine it’s toast. I guess what i am getting at is do any of you know of a
“bulletproof” set up for these things? From what I read so far sounds like these
motors are hit and miss and I would like if possible to get this thing so I’m not
nervous being far from a road to retrieve if it fails. From what I understand the
power commander v is suppose to help with this but I’m sure some of you with
experience with them could give me good insight on maybe how to set this thing up
to be reliable if it can be reliable. I have a good mechanical background but these
specific sleds are very new to me. Any input would be appreciated thanks

i have these with over 5000 trouble free miles on them. but it's not going to be
cheap. you need a fuel controller with a dtr stoutner map, good piston's, and
measured, checked, and adjusted via a replate if necessary?if not you have to have
the right finish ( hone). you need to address the cooling issue, you need to
install addinanal rear cooler, either remove the t-stat or get our doo t-stat by-
pass kit. replace the stock reeds with v-force 3r's, seal the air box, check the
intake boots a source of a lot of burn downs, make sure the air box is seated on
the throttle bodys right? send the injectors out for cleaning, replace the fuel
filter, pull the pump out of the tank and inspec. lines etc. another source of burn
downs running issue's. vent the oil tank. these are worse than the rush chassis
sleds. run red line oil only. make sure the oil pump is adjusted right? check and
set tps base voltage to .700 or just lower .698 etc. idle voltage @ .934 i believe
i have to check that it's been a while. with the heat issue.s with this sled you
are better off running S.P.I. hyper drive piston's with or without a shim plate. i
have these both ways. the shim plate sled is faster. more crankcase volume? like i
said it will be reliable and very fast way faster than any pro-r or axys pro-
s,x,xcr sled if done right? on par with a indy or assault.

i just reread your post. it's a rmk so the additional cooler you don't have to do.
and you need to take it to a dealer and have it put on the d-wrench and pull all
the history and active codes out. not going to do any good if you do all this and
the voltage regulator is bad? low voltage to the fuel injectors means lean. or to
the fuel pump. you may want to do this before anything else?
