Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme aims to provide foundational support to individuals, who are deserving & meritorious but may lack
resources to pursue their dreams. Along with the financial support, programme will also focus on mentorship and career guidance to the beneficiaries as and when
required.

Scholarship for Class 11
ELIGIBILITY
Must have passed Class 10 board examination in 2019

Must be enrolled in Class 11 at a recognised school in India
Must have scored at least 75% in Class 10 board exams
Annual family income should be less than INR 5 Lakhs

INR 20,000 per year for 2 years

Terms & Conditions

Please read the below mentioned terms and conditions carefully before submitting the application form : -
‘Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme’ (Hereinafter ‘the Scholarship Program’) is being conducted by Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd.
("Colgate" / "Company") from June 6,2019 to March 31, 2020 ("Scholarship offer period") and is open for India Nationals Only.
The Scholarship Program is applicable to individuals/candidates from economically weaker sections/ below poverty lines. The documents for same will be as
prescribed by statutory norms and is open to those desirous candidates/ individuals who have all the requisite documents at the time of making an application.
The specific details of the categories, eligibility criteria and entitlements of the Scholarship Program have been provided herein below.
It is the sole responsibility of a candidate to go through the categories and the corresponding eligibility criteria as mentioned below and apply for the applicable
category.
The data collected through the registration process will not be used for any commercial purposes other than shortlisting candidates for the Scholarship Program.
Meeting the eligibility criteria and applying for the Scholarship Program does not guarantee selection. The process entails various steps for shortlisting and final
selection, which may take few months.
Colgate shall not entertain any correspondence with regards to the non-selection of the candidates.
Upon successful selection for the Scholarship Program, candidate/ individual will be approached by Colgate/technology implementation partner.
Relevant supporting documents will be required before / on or after allocation of the applicable scholarship amount. The Scholarship Program for specific
category will be strictly for the duration mentioned for respective category.
Colgate holds the right to perform internal due diligence for verifying the documents uploaded by the candidate.
Colgate reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to reject or disqualify any application; or (b) subject to any written
directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the scholarship, or (c) to change the program based learning ; as appropriate.
If at any point of time during the period of scholarship or even later it is found that any of the particulars mentioned in the form are/were false and/or misleading
or that the candidate has wilfully suppressed any material facts, Colgate will be at liberty to withdraw the scholarship allotted to such candidate.
The Scholarship Program shall be evaluated at regular intervals by Colgate and terms and conditions thereof may be modified, withdrawn or cancelled at the
discretion of the selection panel of Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme and CSR committee of Colgate.
The candidate hereby acknowledges that Colgate does not commit or intend to employ any of the successful candidates.
No candidate or Individual has to pay any registration or application fee for applying to the Scholarship Program. No purchase of Colgate products is mandatory
for participating in the Scholarship Program.
Colgate reserves the right, to use the photograph /profile of the scholarship applicant/beneficiary for future publication use; and/or disclosures; and/or for
communication purposes with Colgate’s stakeholders; and/or for submissions before various authorities and interested parties from time to time for reporting
progress thereof; and/or for use in Corporate brochures, websites, social media, archives and other material publicity, if any in relation to its activities without any
monetary compensation payable to any applicant and without any restriction to its frequency and use.
Colgate would not be liable or held responsible for any lack or lapse in any communication on account of failure or delay by internet, telecom, SMS and/or E-
mail service providers. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Employees of the Company, its affiliates and their family members are not eligible to participate in the Scholarship Program.
The decision of the Company with regard to the Scholarship Program and the declaration of the winners is final and binding.
Disputes; if any, shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai only.

Method of Selection
Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at one of the Selection Centres viz. Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru
(Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective
Selection Centres through candidate’s registered e-mail id and SMS only.
Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard. Candidates will be put
through two stage selection procedure at the SSB. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of

यह खं ड र पर थािपत है । यह खंड र पर दू सरी सेवाओं एवं िवकास की गितिविधयों को छोड़कर अ सभी मु सार के काय कम का ब एवं संगठना क हाथ के प म काय करे गी।
यह लाइन िवभा गों के िलए िव ृत काय म तैयार करने तथा उसके काया यन म सम यन करने के िलए एक आम थान होगा। यह एक ऐसा र होगा जहाँ पर िकसान सलाहकार सिमित के मा म
से िकसानों की भागीदारी को अिधक भावशाली ढं ग से गितमान िकया जा सकेगा। ऐसी ि या सभी भागीदारी को अिधक भावशाली ढं ग से गितमान िकया जा सकेगा। ऐसी ि या सभी भागीदारी के
ितिनिधयों को सार की ाथिमकता केा उनके ेक काय े के िलए िनधा रत करने तथा साधनों के आवंटन म सहायता करगी। फाम सूचना एवं सलाहकार के साम रक अनुसंधान एवं सार
योजनाओं को काय प दे ने तथा सार प ित के िलए खड़की दान करने की तरफ कदम बढ़ाने के िलए िज ेवार होगी । फाम सूचना एवं सलाहकार के सार की जाने वाली गितिविधयों की िव ृत
ॉक काय योजना तैयार करे गी। इस काय योजना को आ ा को ुत करने से पूव फाम सूचना तथा सलाहकार के के ारा ीकृत िकया जाएगा। आ ा ब सिमित इस काय योजना को आ ा
शासी प रषद की ीकृित हे तु ुत करने से पूव यह सुिनि त करे गी िक यह तकनीकी एवं शासिनक प से तथा एस0 आर0 ई0 पी0 के हा। िजला र पर के लाइन िवभागों तथा अनुसंधान
ईकाइयों मौसमी या वािषकी काय योजना िन काय के िलए तैयार करे गी :-
िनदान एवं सहायक सेवाओ का अनुर ण करना जैसे-मृदा प र ण योगशालाय।

फी र सार ाफ तथा काय सूचना एवं सलाहकार सिमित के िलए सेवा कालीन िश ण तथा तकनीकी ोट का आयोजन करे गी।

िकया गया। भारत सरकार के अ सरकारी प ां क -27 (प) 2003-एन0ए0टी0पी0 (टी0सी0)-एस0 ई0 ड ू0 पी0/ए0 ई0 िदनां क 20.04.2005 ारा के ायोिजत योजना ’’ सपोट टू े ट ए टशन
ो ाम फॉर ए टशन रफा ्स’’ लागू की गई है । उ प के आलोक म कृिष िवभाग, िबहार सरकार के प ां क-1799 िदनां क 31.05.2005 ारा रा के प ह िजलों म कृिष ौ ोिगकी ब
अिभकरण (आ ा) थािपत करने का रा सरकार ारा िनणय िलया गया। कृिष एवं सहका रता मं ालय, भारत सरकार के नये मागदिशका के अनुसार दे श के 591 ामीण िजले म ’’ सपोट टू े ट
ए टशन ो ाम फॉर ए टशन रफा ्स’’ योजना अ गत कृिष ौ ोिगकी ब अिभकरण (आ ा) का गठन िकया गया।
आ ा ा है ?
आ ा उन मुख भागीदारों की सं था है जो िजला म कृिष के िवकास को थािय दान करने संबंधी कृिष की गितिविधयों म संल है । यह कृिष सार एवं अनुसंधान काय को एकीकृत प से कृषकों
के बीच लाने म मददगार है । यह एक ाय सं था है जो िजला म कृिष एवं स तकनीकी सार के िलए उ रदायी है । यह सं था सीधे धन रािश ा करने (रा /भारत सरकार, िनजी सं थान,
सद ता, लाभाथ से सहयोग आिद), अनुबंध करार एवं लेखा अनुर ण करने म पूव समथ होने के साथ ही ावलंबन हे तु शु तथा प रचालन य करने म भी समथ है ।
आ ा की आव कता ों ?
आ ा िजले म सभी ौ ोिगकी सार गितिविधयों के िलए िज ेवार है । इसका कृिष िवकास से जुड़े सभी सं थाओं, गैर सरकारी संगठनों एवं अिभकरणों के साथ संबंध है । आ ा िजले म कायरत
सं थाओ जैसे-कृिष िव ान के , े ीय अनुसंधान के , तथा सभी मुख लाइन िवभागों जैसे- कृिष, उ ान, पशुपालन, म पालन, िजला अ णी बक आिद आ ा के संगठना क सद है । इसम से
ेक िवभाग अपनी िवभागीय पहचान बनाये रखग, लेिकन उनके सार एवं अनुसंधान संबंधी गितिविधयों का िनधारण आ ा के शासी प रषद ;ळवअमतदपदह ठवंतक ारा िकया जाएगा तथा
उनका ि या यन आ ा ब सिमित के ारा होगा।

कृिष सार े म सूचना तकनीक एव िमिडया की भूिमका को बढ़ावा दे ना।
आ ा को शासी प रषद एवं बंध सिमित ारा सहयोग िकया जाएगा। आ ा के अ गत खंड र पर कृषक सूचना एवं सलाहकार के (FIAC) का संचालन तकनीकी सलाहकारों की ख
तकनीकी दल (BTT) एवं खंड िकसान समूहों के िकसान सलाहकार सिमित (BFIAC) ारा होता है । गाँ व एवं ख र पर वसाय आधा रत िकसान िहत समूहों (FIG) को ो ाहन दे ना,िजससे
तकनीकी सृजन एवं सारण म िकसान की भूिमका एवं जवाबदे ही हो।

‘Raniganj Vriksh Vatika’ is located 30 km west of Araria District Headquarters of Bihar State. It is situated at a distance of 25 km from the east side of S.H. 77, which is
310 km north-east of Patna and forbesganj four-lane (NH 57) to South Kursela.
This site is the forest land notified by the Bihar government. The ‘Raniganj Vriksh Vatika’ area was formerly known as Hasanpur Balu Dhima. This area spread over 289
acres has been developed as a natural forest area. Its changed nature has been given attractive look as per the needs of tourists.
At present, ‘Raniganj Vriksh Vatika’ is a very scenic, picturesque tourist spot of Bihar State, ideal place for nature and health lovers and as a place of study for
researchers.

About District
Araria district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state, India, and Araria town is the administrative headquarter of this district. Araria district is a part of Purnea
division. The district occupies an area of 2830 sq km. It has a view of Mount Kanchenjunga(One of the great peaks of the Himalyan range) This district has total 2 sub-
divisions namely Araria and Forbesganj and 9 blocks. Araria sub-division comprises six blocks: Araria, Jokihat, Kursakanta, Raniganj, Sikti and Palasi and Forbesganj
sub-division comprises three blocks: Forbesganj, Narpatganj and Bhargama. There are six Vidhan Sabha constituencies in this district: Narpatganj, Raniganj(SC),
Forbesganj, Araria, Jokihat and Sikti. All of these are part of Araria Lok Sabha constituency.
Origin of Name
During the British period, the area where Mr. Forbes’s bungalow was located was called “Residential Area”, which people abbreviated to R. Area. Over time, R. Area.

History
The territory of present-day district became Araria sub-division of the earstwhile Purnea district in 1964. Araria district was formed in January 1990 as one of the
administrative districts of Bihar under Purnea division.
Geography
Araria district occupies an area of 2830 sq km. The major rivers of the district are Kosi, Suwara, Kali, Parmar and Koli.
Economy
Economy of araria district mainly depends on agriculture. Main agricultural produces of this district are paddy, maize and jute.

According to the 2011 census Araria district has a population of 28,11,569. The district has a population density of 993 inhabitants per square kilometre. Its population

Credit-cum-Subsidy Scheme for Rural Housing
There were a large number of households in the rural areas which could not be covered under the IAY, as either they do not fall into the range of eligibility or due to the
limits imposed by the available budget. On the other hand due to limited repayment capacity, these rural households cannot take benefit of fully loan based schemes
offered by some of the housing finance institutions. The need of this majority can be met through a scheme which is part credit and part subsidy based.
Objective:
The objective of this scheme for rural housing is to facilitate construction of houses for rural families who have some repayment capacity. The scheme aims at
eradicating shelterlessness from the rural area of the country.
Scope:
The scheme provides shelter to rural families who have not been coveted under IAY and who are desirous of possessing a house. All rural households having annual
income up to Rs. 32,000/- are covered under this scheme.
Funding:
The funds are shared by the Centre and the State in the ratio of 75:25 respectively.
Strategy:
Rural poor just above the poverty line are entitled to get the benefits of the scheme. A maximum subsidy of Rs. 10,000/- per unit is provided for the construction of a
house. Sanitary latrine and smokeless chulha are integral part of the house. Cost effective and enviornment friendly technologies, materials, designs, etc. are
encouraged. Sixty per cent (60%) of the houses are allocated to SC/ST rural poor.
How to Seek Assistance:

State Governments decide the implementing agency, which may be the State Housing Board, State Housing Corporation, specified scheduled Commercial bank,
Housing Finance Institution or the DRDA/ZP. The person desirous of getting benefit of the scheme may approach the implementing agency.

MPLADS was launched in December 1993 as a central sector scheme to enable Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to execute the schemes of their choice that
are developmental and based on locally felt needs within the guidelines for this purpose.
Objective:
The basic objective of this programme is to facilitate immediate execution of small but locally important schemes, whose execution may otherwise span over a huge
period. The works which can be carried out under this scheme are - construction of buildings for schools, hostels, libraries and shelter for old/handicapped, construction
of link/approach roads, culverts/bridges, public irrigation and public drainage facilities etc. as indicated in the guidelines.
Funding:
The Government of India provides cent-percent fund for this scheme. Each MP has the choice to suggest work to the tune of Rs. Two crores per year to be taken up in
his/her constituency.
Execution:
Execution of this scheme is done through the detailed guidelines and circulars issued from time to time on matters relating to operational details by the Department of
Programme Implementation, Govt. of India.

The Drought Prone Areas Programme (DPAP) aims at mitigating the adverse effects of drought on the production of crops and livestock and productivity of land, water
and human resources. It strives to encourage restoration of ecological balance and seeks to improve the economic and social conditions of the poor and the
disadvantaged sections of the rural community.
Scope:
DPAP is a people's programme with Government assistance. There is a special arrangement for maintenance of assets and social audit by Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Development of all categories of land belonging to Gram Panchayats, Government and individuals fall within the limits of the selected watersheds for development.
Funding:
Allocation is to be shared equally by the Centre and State Govt. on 75:25 basis. Watershed community is to contribute for maintenance of assets created. Utilisation of
50% of allocation under the Employment Assurance Scheme (EAS) is for the watershed development. Funds are directly released to Zila Parishads/District Rural
Development Agencies (DRDAs) to sanction projects and release funds to Watershed Committees and Project Implementation Agencies.
Strategy:
Village community, including self-help/user groups, undertake area development by planning and implementation of projects on watershed basis through Watershed
Associations and Watershed Committees constituted from among themselves. The Government supplements their work by creating social awareness, imparting training
and providing technical support through project implementation agencies.

Non-Government organisations can approach the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) for appointment as Project Implementation Agencies.

The State Govt. launched a scheme in 1980-81 to enable the members of legislature to execute the small schemes of their choice that are developmental and are based
on immediate felt local needs, as per the guidelines issued for this purpose. Under this scheme Rs.50.00 lakh has to be provided to each member of the State
Legislative.
Objective:
The objective of this scheme is to facilitate immediate execution of locally important schemes, whose execution may otherwise span over a large period - as per the list
of Do's and Don't indicated in the guidelines.
Funding:
This is a State Plan Scheme whose expenditure is fully borne by the State Government.
Execution:
Each legislator is supposed to indicate choice of schemes to the tune of Rs fifty lakhs per year to br taken up in his/her constituency to the concerned Deputy
Development Commissioner, which will get them implemented by following the established procedures contained in the guidelines and circulars issued by the Rural
Development Department.

The Government of India launched this scheme in 1997 incorporating seven vital services of importance to common people. The State Government has opted to provide
shelter to shelter-less below poverty line under this scheme.
Objective:
The objective of providing this scheme is to supplement the constitution of dwelling units for members of SC/ST, freed bonded labour and also non-SC/ST rural poor
below the poverty line by providing them with grant.
Funding:
The Central Government provides additional funds for Basic Minimum Services subject to the condition that the State Government will provide 15% of the required
funds.
Execution:
Additional Indira Awas are being constructed with the guidelines analogous to that for the Awas Yojana. The salient features are:
Rs. 20,000/- is provided to the beneficiaries for construction of the houses in phases. Sanitary latrines and smokeless chulah are integral part of
the houses.
Houses are allotted in the name of female members of the family or in joint names of both spouses.
Selection of construction technology, materials and design is left entirely to the choice of beneficiaries. Contractors, Middlemen or the
Departmental Agencies have no role in the construction of houses.
Cost effective and environment friendly housing technologies/design and materials are provided.
Achievement:
A sum of Rs 364.07 crores and Rs 383.32 crores were allocated during 1997-98 & 1998-99, and a sum of Rs 419.04 crores is to be allocated during 1999-2000, which
have led to completion of over three lakh houses upto December 1999.

IAY is the flagship rural housing scheme which is being implemented by the Government of India with an aim of providing shelter to the poor below poverty line. The
Government of India has decided that allocation of funds under IAY (Indira Awas Yojna)will be on the basis of poverty ratio and housing shortage.
Objective:
The objective of IAY is primarily to help construction of new dwelling units as well as conversion of unserviceable kutcha houses into pucca/semi-pucca by members of
SC/STs, freed bonded labourers and also non-SC/ST rural poor below the poverty line by extending them grant-in-aid.
Scope:
IAY is a beneficiary-oriented programme aimed at providing houses for SC/ST households who are victims of atrocities, households headed by widows/unmarried
women and SC/ST households who are below the poverty line. This scheme has been in effect from 1st April, 1999.
Funding:
IAY is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme funded on cost sharing basis between the Govt. of India and the States in the ratio of 75:25 respectively.
Strategy:
Grant of Rs. 20,000/- per unit is provided in the plain areas and Rs. 22,000/- in hilly/difficult areas for the construction of a house. For conversion of a kutcha house into
in pucca house, Rs. 10,000/- is provided. Sanitary laterines and chulahs are integral part of the house. In construction/upgradation of the house, cost effective and
enviornment friendly technologies, materials and designs are encouraged. The household is alloted in the name of a female member of beneficiary household.

The critical importance of rural infrastructure in the development of village economy is well known. A number of steps have been initiated by the Central as well as the
State Governments for building the rural infrastructure. The public works programme have also contributed significantly in this direction.
Objective:
Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojna (JGSY) is the restructured, streamlined and comprehensive version of the erstwhile Jawahar Rozagar Yojana. Designed to improve the
quality of life of the poor, JGSY has been launched on 1st April, 1999. The primary objective of the JGSY is the creation of demand driven community village
infrastructure including durable assets at the village level and assets to enable the rural poor to increase the opportunities for sustained employment. The secondary
objective is the generation of supplementary employment for the unemployed poor in the rural areas. The wage employment under the programme shall be given to
Below Poverty Line(BPL) families.
Scope:
JGSY is implemented entirely at the village Panchayat level. Village Panchayat is the sole authority for preparation of the Annual Plan and its implementation.
Funding:
The programme will be implemented as Centrally Sponsored Scheme on cost sharing basis between the Centre and the State in the ratio of 75:25 respectively.
Strategy:
The programme is to be implemented by the Village Panchayats with the approval of Gram sabha. No other administrative or technical approval will be required. For
works/schemes costing more than 50,000/-, after taking the approval of the Gram Sabah, the Village Panchayat shall seek the technical/administrative approval of
appropriate authorities. Panchayats may spend upto 15% of allocation on maintenance of assets created under the programme within its geographical boundary. 22.5%
of JGSY funds have been enmarked for individual beneficiary schemes for SC/STs. 3% of annual allocation would be utilised for creation of barrier free infrastructure for
the disabled. The funds to the Village Panchayats will be allocated on the basis of the population. The upper ceiling of 10,000 population has been removed.

Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna

This programme was launched in April, 1999. This is a holistic programme covering all aspects of self employment such as organisation of the poor into self help groups,
training, credit, technology, infrastructure and marketing.
Objective:
The objective of SGSY is to provide sustainable income to the rural poor. The programme aims at establishing a large number of micro-enterprises in the rural areas,
based upon the potential of the rural poor. It is envisaged that every family assisted under SGSY will be brought above the poverty-line with in a period of three years.
Scope:
This programme covers families below poverty line in rural areas of the country. Within this target group, special safeguards have been provided by reserving 50% of
benefits for SCs/STs, 40% for women and 3% for physically handicapped persons. Subject to the availability of the funds, it is proposed to cover 30% of the rural poor in
each block in the next 5 years.
Funding:
SGSY is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and funding is shared by the Central and State Governments in the ratio of 75:25 respectively.
Strategy:
SGSY is a Credit-cum-Subsidy programme. It covers all aspects of self-employment, such as organisation of the poor into self-help groups, training, credit technology,
infrastructure and marketing. Efforts would be made to involve women members in each self-help group. SGSY lays emphasis on activity clusters. Four-five activities will
be identified for each block with the approval of Panchayat Samities. The Gram sabha will authenticate the list of families below the poverty line identified in BPL census.
Identification of individual families suitable for each key activity will be made through a participatory process. Closer attention will be paid on skill development of the
beneficiaries, known as swarozgaris, and their technology and marketing needs.
