Procedure on how to change RTU Traffic from Fiber Optic to UHF:

1. Connect a laptop to Port 3 on Ruggedcom Switch A in the new building and assign below IP
Address, Subnet and Gateway for the laptop:
IP Address: 10.10.255.8
Subnet: 255.255.255.240
Gateway: 10.10.255.14

Note: Connection can be done through NMS Zabbix.

2. Open Web Browser and connect to the UHF modem of Main Station (IP: 10.10.254.1XX) in the
area that has the substation connected. Below is the Summary of the connection of Main
Station with Remote Stations that have Fiber Connection:

3. Enter Username and Password for the Main Station Racom Modem
Username: admin
Password: admin

4. On the top left of the page, press “Fast remote Access” and enter the IP address of the site the
has an issue in the Fiber Optic connection. The list of IP addresses is shown below:

5. In the remote substation, press on Settings in the left Menu.

 6. Press on “ARP proxy & VLAN”, then tick the checkbox ARP Proxy. Click Ok then Apply to save the
configuration.

7. This will reactivate the traffic to be through the UHF. After the FO issue is resolved, the ARP
proxy should be disabled.

Note: No additional configuration is needed on the Ruggedcom Switch since the UHF Port (RJ45) and the
FO Port (SFP) are both preconfigured.
