The department guidelines serve as the working means referred to in clause 4.2.1
of IDEA/BBS Quality manual.

The department guidelines are prepared and updated by the department Quality
representative with active participation by every- one in the group.

The guideline manual begins with process mapping of piping department activities.
There after, the guideline manual describes the basic requirements to be met for each
activity, document or drawing. These guidelines are to be referred to the extent the
contractual obligations allow the individual user. Where contractual requirements
dictate a different set of guide- lines to be followed, then the contractual
requirements prevail.

The guidelines are not distributed to each and every individual in the group. Instead,
controlled copies are issued to the department Head,department Quality
representative.library and Management representative.The individuals are expected to
refer to the guideline manuals before starting a particular activity, drawing or
document.

As and when there is felt a need for any additions and / or revisions in the guidelines,
the same shall be informed to the Department Quality Representative who shall
initiate the required actions. None other than the Department Quality Representative
is authorized to initiate changes or mark-ups on the controlled copies of the
dapartment guideline manuals.

Year of edition of codes and standards specified in the guidelines shall be the latest
unless otherwise specified by the client / contract.
