1. What is the involvement of the HR department, particularly in HR planning regarding


the expansion?

-the involvement of the HR department in the HR planning regarding to the


expansion is that they helps in reconsidering how to handle all human resource
operating abroad, thinks about the questions to come up like how they will hire staff
from abroad, and also they help in selecting the good employee.

2. What should Ben do with the proposed expansion?

-ask what is the meeting all about, what is the essence of the proposed
expansion. Ben should be attentive so that he will not get caught by surprise next time.

3. What should have been done prior to the meeting on the proposed expansion?

-there should always be a meeting or discussion before proposing the


expansion to the public. The HR Manager should always put in his mind that the first
thing to do in planning an expansion is to give a clear information and practice in giving
a clear communication to the staffs making sure that they are all informed about the
proposed expansion.

4. What should be done so that nobody will be caught by surprise in the future?

-there must be an early discussion before the exact date of the expansion so
that all of the staffs or employees of a certain company will be prepared about the
expansion in the future and so that the other employee can also give their suggestions,
opinions, etc.

1. How would you assess the recruitment data in the last three years? What is the
trend?

-the recruitment and selection should have a policy or standard in the company,
they should make sure that the HRM will select those right candidates who will not
only meet the work competencies but also the values of the organization.

2. On the basis of this scenario, what concrete efforts and strategies can you devise
in the recruitment of the next batch of front-desk receptionist who will work in the hotel?

-the organization should be very careful I selecting the best candidate for that
position, it will create a bid difference in dealing with them. And if your selected
candidate will perform well, you as a manager will never have any worries in dealing
with them and it will come up as a good investment in your company.

3. What will be your advice to the management regarding the handling of the next
batch of hires in the front-desk?

-we all know that choosing the best applicant is hard, my advice to the
management is that they must clarify that they are willing to learn about the job they
are applying for, you must have seen their resumes if they are qualified to the
standards of the company, the references and the answers in the interview and to
know how they handle customers and lastly, to know your standards in recruiting and
choosing a receptionist.
