This year marks the centenary of Spanish flu, the most deadly pandemic in
human history. It is estimated that five hundred million people contracted it – a third of

the global population in 1918 – and that between fifty and a hundred million of them
died. Asians were thirty times more likely to die than Europeans.
Every year it kills hundreds of thousands of people on every inhabited continent while
globally, many tens of millions catch the flu bug every year. All these many millions of
infected people inoculate others at home, work, schools, places of worship, in travel and
in every imaginable public place, spreading their viruses across the planet.
The strain involved in the last flu pandemic, the swine flu outbreak in 2009, was highly
infectious, but milder than previous pandemic strains. Of the 61.7 million people living
in the UK in 2009, 457 died from it – similar to the usual annual death toll for flu. The
1957 Asian flu and the 196869 Hong Kong flu pandemics were more serious; the death
toll in each case was estimated at around a million worldwide.
Flu Kills 646,000 People Worldwide Each Year while globally, tens of millions
catch the flu. All these many millions of infected people inoculate others at home, work,
schools, places of worship, in travel and in every imaginable public place, spreading
their viruses across the planet.
The mortality rate of ‘severe’ flu infections worldwide is about 13%–about the same as
for ‘severe Sars infections. The new virus may be considerably lower.
Western media condition us to a Pavlovian fear of China with maps like the above, while
howling to get China’s flu declared an international health emergency and global
pandemic but, so far, the WHO Declines to Declare China Virus Outbreak a
Global Health Emergency. How could it, looking at the farcical map shown above?
China’s Public Health Service is probably the most efficient on earth, which is why
Chinese children will live longer, healthier lives than their American contemporaries.
But that’s not news, either.
Says Nature: The speed and openness of the scientific response to the coronavirus has
been unprecedented. Ten days after it was first reported in people, scientists in China
and Australia released the virus’s genetic sequence. Within hours, research labs
worldwide were putting all hands on deck to understand the disease. “This is
one of the first times we’re getting to see an outbreak of a new virus and have the
scientific community sharing their data almost in real time,” says molecular biologist
Michael Letko.
David Ho, the HIV/AIDS medical researcher, pointed out that as of late last week, the
mortality rate appeared to be around 2.5 percent, which is “about 34fold lower than
SARS,” adding, “The deaths are occurring in people who are old or those with prior
medical conditions. If we were to put the influenza figures next to this new CoV, the
absolute case numbers and mortality rates would be much greater [for the regular flu].
But we are rather complacent with flu even though it is quite deadly to the very young,
the elderly, and those with underlying medical problems.
No deaths have been reported outside of China, corroborating the relatively low
mortality rate from official data in China. The
New York Times summarizes the latest international infection situation:
Thailand and Hong Kong have each reported eight cases of infection; the
United States, Taiwan, Australia and Macau have five each; Singapore,
Japan, South Korea and Malaysia each have reported four; France has
three; Canada and Vietnam have two, and Nepal and Cambodia each
have one.
THE DARK SIDE
Since the 20th century, the West has been and continues to be the most
avid users of bioweapons. The United States is the biggest user of biochemical
weapons in history, including in Cuba; Iraq, Syria and Iran (by proxy); Serbia,
Japan, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and America has eagerly used them on its own
people, apparently more often than we care to admit.
In the 1940s the United States purposely infected thousands of
Guatemala, natives with syphilis and gonorrhea, to test these human
guinea pigs with antibiotics. Of course, these suffering souls were sexually active
for the rest of their lives and unwittingly infected everybody they came in contact
with, including spouses.
At Tuskegee, hundreds of American blacks were allowed to carry syphilis
from the 1930s to the 1970s, to act as human petri dishes. This was to track the
progress of the disease and observe the eventual macabre deaths that this bacteria is
wont to inflict on its victims, in its final stages: insanity, nervous disorders, liver and
heart disease.
The United States has a long, illustrious history of using bioterrorism
around the world. Cuba has been a favorite target and has seen hundreds of
thousands of its people infected with Dengue fever as well as its entire swine herd
wiped out by swine fever.
T he United States of America holds the exclusive patent on the Ebola
virus: US patent number 20120251502, is owned by the American
government.Ebola has been Uncle Sam’s bioweapon plaything since
1976, when it was discovered in Zaire and shipped 3,500km by America’s bio
warfare lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland, then to West Africa for cultivation and
development (via the UK’s biowarfare labs in Porton Down and with the help of the
World “Health” Organization), specifically, to Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the
current epicenters of the Ebola epidemic on the Great Continent.
The 2014 Ebola outbreak came as a result of another rogue US Military
operation in austral Africa from which the Soros/Gatesfunded Kenema
bioweapons lab in Sierra Leone was involved.
The US has a long history of biowarfare against China. The Report of the
International Scientific Commission for the Investigation of Facts Concerning
Bacteriological Warfare in Korea and China (ISC report) validated claims by North
Korea and China that the US had launched bacteriological warfare (biological
warfare, BW) attacks against both troops and civilian targets in those two countries
over a period of months in 1952. This 667 page truth commission report has the
dubious distinction of being the most vilified written document of the 20th Century.
The report’s release in September 1952 brought a withering international attack. It
was roundly denounced by American and British politicians of the highest rank,
ridiculed by four star generals, accused of fraud by celebrated pundits, misquoted by
notable scientists, and scorned by a compliant Western press. In subsequent
decades, volumes placed in American university library collections were quietly and
permanently removed from circulation. When the rare copy came up for auction, it
was discretely purchased and disappeared from public view.
In March 2019, in a mysterious event, a shipment of exceptionally
virulent viruses from Canada’s NML biological labs ended up in China.
Canadian officials say the shipment was part of its efforts to support publichealth
research worldwide. They claimed that it was just normal procedure. What is
unclear is why it was done in secret, and why the Chinese officials lodged a
complaint. For certain, if this was just a routine transfer, the Chinese government
would have been notified. In July 2019, a group of Chinese virologists were forcibly
dispatched from the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory (NML). The NML
is Canada’s only level4 facility and one of only a few in North America equipped to
handle the world’s deadliest diseases, including Ebola, SARS, Coronavirus, etc.
On October 18th, 2019, the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, in
conjunction with the World Economic Forum assembled “15 leaders of
business, government, and public health” to simulate a scenario in
which a coronavirus pandemic was ravaging the planet. Major participants
were American military leadership, and certain neocon political figures. The Chinese
were not invited. The members took notes, and then returned to their day to day
operations.

300 US military personnel arrived in Wuhan for the Military World
Games on October 19. The first coronavirus case appeared two weeks later, on
November 2. Coronavirus incubation period is 14 days.
Two months later a very similar coronavirus pandemic hit China at
Wuhan, a major transport hub in Central China and for the highspeed train
network, and with 60 air routes with direct flights to most of the world’s major
cities, as well as more than 100 internal flights to major Chinese cities right at the
Spring Festival travel rush when hundreds of millions of people travel across the
country to be with their families.
The Coronavirus (2019nCoV) is an entirely new strain related to the MERS
(MERSCoV) and the SARS (SARSCoV) viruses, though early evidence suggested
that it was not dangerous. SARS was proven to be caused by a strain of the
coronavirus, a large family of mostly harmless viruses also responsible for the
common cold, but
SARS exhibited characteristics never before observed in any animal or
human virus, did not by any means fully match the animal viruses mentioned
above, and contained genetic material that still remains unidentified – similar to
this new coronavirus in 2019.
SARS had the hallmarks of a bioweapon. After all, aren’t new biological
warfare agents designed to produce a new disease with a new infectious agent? As in
prior military experiments, all it might take … to spread SARS is an aerosol can . . .”
Several Russian scientists suggested a link between SARS and biowarfare. Sergei
Kolesnikov, a member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, said the
propagation of the SARS virus might well have been caused by leaking a combat
virus grown in bacteriological weapons labs. According to a number of news reports,
Kolesnikov claimed that the virus of atypical pneumonia (SARS) was a synthesis of
two viruses (of measles and infectious parotiditis or mumps), the natural compound
of which was impossible, that this mix could never appear in nature, stating, “This
can be done only in a laboratory.” And Nikolai Filatov, the head of Moscow’s
epidemiological services, was quoted in the Gazeta daily as stating he believed SARS
was manmade because “there is no vaccine for this virus, its makeup is unclear, it
has not been very widespread and the population is not immune to it.”
Virologist Dr. Alan Cantwell wrote at the time that “the mysterious SARS
virus is a new virus never before seen by virologists, “This is an entirely new illness
with devastating effects on the immune system, and there is no known treatment.”
Dr. Cantwell noted that the genetic engineering of coronaviruses has been occurring
in both medical and military labs for decades. When he searched in PubMed for the
phrase “coronavirus genetic engineering”, he was referred to 107 scientific
experiments dating back to 1987. To quote Dr. Cantwell: “I quickly confirmed
scientists have been genetically engineering animal and human coronaviruses to
make diseaseproducing mutant and recombinant viruses for over a decade.”

There wouldn’t be much of an outcry from the American public if it was leaked that a Bio
Weapon was used to destroy China’s pork production. But if it was used to spread a
deadly virus there would be a loud howl. There are enough conventional weapons in the
US arsenal to defeat any enemy, there is no need to use the mass destruction of Bio
Weapons.

mostly the quality of nutrition at a young age that lays the foundation for health and
longevity throughout life.

Panic is growing world wide. But as far as I can see, its no more than a virulent Winter flu
strain. No one has actually died of it outside China. A statistical small event. New born
babies, very old and sick don’t do much international travel. Having lived ten years in
China, I can vouch that Chinese cities and their hospitals are habitually filthy. I have seen
feces choking a lavatory in a public hospital which amused the hospital staff. In regions
outside European and Japanese colonisation, the Chinese masses have no modern
knowledge of hygiene. A child will piss in the street, and people will then tread in it. I
suspect Wuhan in heartland China is about as backward by Chinese standards as you can
get. Those new emergency hospitals are likely killing more than the virus. I once told a
student that China will fall apart in 2022. Same year as Kissinger’s prediction of fall of
Israel. She said that is not possible as most people are getting richer. Note her answer,
Government in China is only legitimate if it improves people’s lives. The contagion of Hong
Kong will spread to mainland should the Beijing Government start losing control. Ten of
millions, unemployed and under employed, living as migrant workers, are just waiting for
the opportunity.

Appearently, health and life of Chinese people are more important than those of
Americans…
In China, 6000 medical staffs and supplies from other cities have arrived in Wuhan city to
help the local hospitals. That’s more doctors and nurses than Coronavirus patients. So
death should be fewer because patients would be receiving better care.
And we’ve been given 1 more week for new year holidays and adviced to wear a mask if
have to go out. That makes it 14 days of de facto home quarantine for the whole country.
Experts expect the numbers will peak in 710 days and then fall quickly.

Interesting. Although I curse the Chinese for their disgusting habit of eating wild animals
and unsanitary wet markets, which should both be permanently banned, the thought has
crossed my mind that this was something orchestrated by the CIA, yet another attempt to
bring down Xi whom they fear is becoming too popular among the Chinese.
But then this article from Zerohedge also sounds interesting. It does seem quite a
coincidence that Wuhan just happens to be the home of Wuhan Institute of Virology with
a specialist who studies bat viruses like coronavirus:

True that. Even in the West, the Chinatown in every major city is always filthy and
decrepit. Chinese restaurants often have the dirtiest bathrooms. Combine their total lack of

travel/immigration, these people will bring death upon the world. They already almost did
once, with the black death.

number of deaths were 8,032, accounting for 17.5% of all registered deaths.”
SARS: “Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) reached Hong Kong in March 2003.
From 11 March up to 6 June, a total of 1750 cases had been identified (Figure 1), and
during the same period 286 people died of the disease.”
In other words, more people in Hong Kong died of pneumonia in any given fortnight
during 2017 than in the entire three months of the SARS Panic of 2003.

Mortality from ordinary flu is 0.01% (1/10,000), though heavily loaded towards older
people.
Mortality from Corona is ~1% (we don’t really know, this is my estimate, but might be
anywhere from 0.5%5%). Like flu, heavily loaded towards the elderly.
So they are not comparable in scale. It is very understandable to want to avoid
experiencing the risk equivalent of ~100 flus, regardless of age.
For comparison, if you spend your entire life (24/7, 365 days a year) flying on modern
commercial airliners, you will have just a 0.1% chance of dying in a crash. Also quicker and
less painful than dying from Corona.

China’s response is nothing to emulate. Apart from the causes of Corona in the first place
(lax safety standards, regardless if spread from a wet market or a lab), the early response
(arresting people who reported it as rumormongers) was atrocious. Also many
questionable decisions, such as banning private cars apart from taxis in Wuhan (risk of
infection in taxis will be much higher for obvious reasons). Seems like the usual pattern of
Communists not understanding things but issuing “strong” directives to appear competent
and decisive. Overall, this affair has caused me to revise my opinion of the competence of
the Chinese government downwards.

This appears to be incorrect. Dr George F. Gao, head of China’s CDC was not only invited,
but was openly listed as a major player at this conference, one of the very “15 leaders” cited
by Mr Roberts (see

That Dr. George F. Gao is the head of China’s CDC, and one of China’s top virologists, if
not the top virologist, is found here, in

In general hygiene standards there are lower but you can now watch videos of people
pissing and defecating on the floors of US supermarkets, between the aisles. As PRC has
been developing and the US has been going down, I don’t know what a comparison in

supposedly another 8 million may have it but don’t know it. We’re going to be literally
‘thinned out’ after this epidemic hits. Our entire living population after it passes through
will average less body fat.
Yes, the people getting nailed by this disease are mostly going to be fat, elderly Democrats.
That’s the way this illness transmits.

People who downplay this Virus by comparing this to past epidemics are clueless. No
matter where the virus came from biolab or by the proximity and culture of these street
animal markets. This is “Fat Tailed Event” because of the uncertainty of the probabilities.
You cannot assume anything and the systems are not at zero state nor are they the same as
in previous outbreaks of microbes. The probabilities projected are like “Game Theory
Statistics” and have no validity for these types of environments.

If you’re in the top half and have “health insurance”, then the deductible is several

In conclusion, Yes, Chinese lives are worth more than Americans’ and that’s saying
something considering Chinese lives are fairly cheap.

It is not so much the media’s concern for Chinese lives as it is a need for them to embarrass
China somehow. They also focussed heavily on the Melamine milk scandal which resulted
in 6 deaths and many more being hospitalised, but have not really covered the various
pharmaceutical scandals in the US which have killed 1000s due to Big Pharma engaging
in dodgy practices when it came to clinical trials.
If this virus spreads around China, it will mostly kill old people and this will be both good
and bad for China, bad in that lots of Chinese will die but good in that most of those that
will die will be old unproductive.
Overall I think there is an undue amount of attention being paid to this development.

I was actually shocked to see the Washington Post actually applauded China for quickly

But yes the hype is way overblown. I keep saying it – the fact is the flu is still very deadly.
This virus is no more dangerous when you look at the numbers. The only difference is that
it is a newly identified strain.
As to germ warfare – no question dirty things happen… But I personally dont think that is
the case here. Though i could be wrong. But point being – people disregard the bible – but
it is the most practical book there is. Long before governmemt had disease prevention
centers and microscopes – the bible gave the most practical advice to the people who
choose to follow. Many adhere to these things and dont even know. Things such as
removing defecation from popukations of people (yes it is in there). I love the Chinese
culture – but there are some things that can be done to prevent certain outbreaks and new
disease. Biblically teaching says to not eat certain categories of animals (which when you
look are mostly predators or scavengers) while approving others (mainly grazers or birds
that eat only insects). It also stated that its not good to eat animals you find dead or have
an obvious injury. It also advises to drain alll the blood and to consume any – nor the fat.
Its not just China – but you see these practices not happen in many rural places in the
world. A lot of the diseases we get come from not adhering to those things. Even the
government of China is blaming it on people who ate captured wild animals at a market.
They have halted all trade in wild animals for consumption and many are calling for a
permanent ban. I think that is a good idea. But if they implemented biblical practice in
eating habits it would solve many issues. That also goes to much of “industrial farming” in
the west with hormones and chemicals saturating everything.
I agree with Mr Roberts on much – but not in this case. Though it is possible.. I tend to
agree with those calling for bans on certain animals in the markets.

The eating habits of many Chinese is not much different than many rural Americans who
eat all kinds of animals that they shouldn’t. And Europeans were notorious for spreading

hemisphere.

As of this moment Wuhan Airport is still operating. Some flights are canceled, but there
are a lot of flights going out to China and other countries. That alone makes me think that
the quarantine is somewhat of a hoax and this virus isn’t as bad as the media makes it out
to be. Then there are the videos of chinese citizens collapsing in the streets. These videos
are as old as imageboards and it’s close to impossible to know if these videos are legit or
not related to the virus. The explosion in numbers in the last few days is meaningless
because everyone that looked into it two weeks ago knew that the CCP was dishonest about
the numbers. So it’s impossible to say if the numbers are growing as exponential as the
official data suggests or if the CCP just decided to tell the truth.
It’s obviously impossible to say if this is a media hoax or a big bioweapon conspiracy

Because they don’t want to pay for 34 possible visits to a doctor’s office, where each office

The dark sides of Godfree’s article, however, are serious and ignored by most commenters.
We know at least some of the items in the list are well known truth. US has a long history
of interests and uses of bioweapons. It has used them more extensively than almost all
nations since WW2. For example, we know MacArthur personally gave immunity to the
Japanese Unit 731 biological research team in order to acquire knowledge of their research
results. And there was also extensive use of agent orange and other chemical weapons in
Vietnam and other parts of South East Asia.

More or less I disagree on ChiComs incompetence on handling this outbreak. You have to
read up on the virologists and epidemiologists who handle these outbreaks all the time and
see what they think. Not read blog posts that say China Bad to get your info.
Most of what I read says that China handled the quarantine correctly and was
transparent. You can site contrary information, but you have to take the whole picture in
balance.
Also, I’ve read on your blog posts and I think your methodology to calculate the relative
risk is off. It is better to look at what actual epidemiologists are saying rather than to
cobble up your own theories with no experience.

Mike Shedlock estimates the number of infections is growing 53% daily. Thus, if efforts at
quarantine fail, 100 million could be infected within three weeks.

Well I just went to Google maps and looked at all the images people posted there, and this
is my report on Wuhan.
1. Wuhan is literally spotlessly clean. Seriously. Streets have zero litter. Their sanitation
service is perfect and must be massive because the city is HUGE.
2. Wuhan seems to have the older city and the newer city. With a huge river and huge
lakes and huge parks all over. It is a BEAUTIFUL city. The newer parts are artistic
buildings, beautiful. The older parts are beautiful in areas, and simpler in others. But
everywhere is clean, it all looks so nice with huge parks and open spaces. Nicer than any
American city I’ve seen, and I’ve been to or seen most of the major cities.
3. They have huge lakes full of pink lotus flowers, surrounded with beautiful parks and
ancient Chinese temples and OMG, this city is NOICE.
4. Wuhan is upscale and ancient at the same time. It is lush, huge, pretty, and spotlessly
