Abstract

Middle East countries are major developing countries and exporters of fuel with dense

urbanisation. In order for economies to rely on hydrocarbon-based business, they need to be

modernised and guarantees of environmental sustainability are needed to think about people's

future. Environmental changes are the main cause of unusual weather changes that lead to an

increase in temperature and sea levels. In the Paris Agreement, 196 countries agreed to keep the

temperature 2 degrees Celsius above today's level. The specialist literature evaluates how

ecological sustainability is combined in projects and how project management influences

improvements. Project management, as temporary organisations have different technologies for

updating the environmental impact and contextual analyses of systems and restrictions in their

implementation are carried out. Limited research has been conducted into the management of

sustainability projects in the Middle East. This qualitative study examines international

environmental sustainability and how it can be implemented in the Middle East. With a

sophisticated approach, speculations are built on existing research results and the theory is tested

with precise perception, such as contextual studies and meetings. The results presented show how

project management can improve attitudes towards ecological sustainability.

HOW PROJECT MANAGEMENT CAN DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS IN MIDDLE EASTERN

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

Introduction

There is a serious and imperative need for environmental sustainability at the top of the

world. Large economies still rely heavily on endless assets to ensure their vital security. This is

exacerbated by the Paris Agreement, which accepts the risk of environmental changes due to the

global rise in temperature well below 2 degrees Celsius before today's level (Maas et al., 2016).

Middle Eastern countries, which include dangerous atmospheric and petroleum-related damage,

are looking for ways to reduce the reliability of oil and air, clean energy resources, reduce CO2

emissions, and make fair progress with different plans for Comply with renewable energies and

want to reach 30, 15 and 20 percent of its capacity by 2030, regardless of renewable energy

sources. It is the most reliable city of Masdar in Abu Dhabi after being the most environmentally

friendly city (Bielenberg et al., 2016).

This city has to explain how different urban communities can work for rapid urbanisation

through the productive use of energy, water and waste. Sustainability in project management in

relation to sustainability principles can lead to improvements in ecological sustainability. So far,

sustainability in project management has not been fully achieved, despite two activities, both on

a small and a large scale. Advances in governance at all levels, from the world to the provinces

to the neighbourhood, must be facilitated, and the government's response must resolve the

problem of comparison (Crane et al., 2019). The reason for this study is to assess practices

accepted worldwide and adapt practices associated with neighbouring and other laws to force

project management to further improve environmental sustainability whilst broadening

boundaries to understand them. Research and see how science, industry and subsidies can

improve environmental sustainability through sound project management, as this applies to all

companies, not just development projects (Meredith et al., 2017).

Literature Review

Environmental protection in the Middle East

It is not possible to add and practice information without fully understanding the current

literature and the problems it faces. These studies include bibliographic studies from research

databases and the key words include "environmental sustainability", combined "project" or

"project management" related to "Middle East". The Middle East, with its enormous wealth, is

experiencing a period of rapid development with the development and development of

population groups that have not been found in western countries for centuries. Then there are two

difficulties and openings that the government can think about and think about as part of their

national dreams (Kerzner, 2017). The government has recently drawn up green building codes,

including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon, which demonstrate that they are

environmentally friendly. There are various standards for environmentally friendly construction

in the Middle East, including the GORD Global Sustainability Assessment System from Qatar.

Because of the speculation, use, and meaning that these sustainability codes receive from

managers, environmental sustainability is critical to realising their national dreams. Both GORD

and LEED provide a structure that enables stakeholders to take sustainability into account as

early as the development phase and to promote energy consumption including fuel, energy,

water, and levelling. At the same time, a plan is provided that is understandable for the entire life

cycle of the structure (Kerzner, 2017).

Significant opportunities, such as the Qatar World Cup in Qatar 2022 and the Expo 2020

in Dubai, are an indication of the vision to make these two options unbiased and affordable. All

structures, platforms and foundations are organised, developed and monitored according to their

Green Code. In Dubai, the Expo authorities have set themselves the goal of LEED Gold

recognition for every ongoing plan and ensuring that half of all electricity comes from

sustainable sources (Makrakis and Kostoulas-Makrakis, 2016). The essence of project

management is the importance of the partners, it is crucial for the effective use of ecological

sustainability. Faced with operational issues that are not visible outside the area, including the

atmosphere and water security, it is at an early stage in achieving sustainability and

environmental issues (Meredith et al., 2017).

Many existing structures were established in the past 20 years before the introduction of

sustainability codes and were often developed with inadequate life experience and without

framework conditions for the administration of the structure. Despite regular commitments and

fundamental political and social problems, including the Qatar 2017 embargo, they are unlikely

to improve sound plans and development practices (Makrakis and Kostoulas-Makrakis, 2016).

Kerr (2018) found that regardless of which grocery store is in the neighbourhood, Qatar has

become more environmentally friendly through the use of neighbourhood building materials,

following a political ban. Although there is research and project management and environmental

sustainability, there are limited studies that measure the relationship between project

management and environmental sustainability and show how project management can improve

environmental sustainability in the Middle East (Fewings and Henjewele, 2019).

Methodology

Research question

How project management can promote environmental sustainability in the Middle East?

Free and protective aspects of project management and ecological sustainability are

analysed separately. Less adaptation of styles or project management methods can also have a

negative and positive impact on ecological sustainability (Kerzner, 2017).

Purpose

The aim of this research project is to gain an insight into project management and to learn

how it can affect and improve ecological sustainability in the Middle East. To achieve this goal,

he will accompany this work (Crane et al., 2019);

a) Review current literature to understand environmental standards for sustainability in

the Middle East.

b) Use other contextual testing techniques to examine the importance of project

management standards.

C) Assess the limits and avoid project integration and how project management can affect

project improvements. The article qualifies as a research plan that uses a variety of contextual

research methods and uses a semi-organised meeting policy for IT. Literature studies will take

into account the contextualisation of the study, including environmental sustainability and how

management updates it in a universal and contrasting way and in the Middle East. Practical
research will understand the obstacles and constraints imposed on project managers and the

decisions and progress that can be made in projects to improve environmental sustainability.

Research Type

The research project will be exploratory research to gather information and gain insight

into the impact of project management on achieving environmental sustainability in projects.

Comparative studies were disseminated by authors looking for information obtained through

open questions, including (Makrakis and Kostoulas-Makrakis, 2016; Meredith et al., 2017). With

the help of educational research, this study will improve information management information

and then clearly describe the circumstances and logical results between project management

connections and environmental sustainability.

Epistemology

Epistemology is a deliberate article that shows what is relevant information in the field of

science and examines different approaches to understanding the concept of the social and

physical world. There are four visual perspectives, in particular positivity, logic, reliability and

interpretation. Project management meditation institutions are not fully understood. Scientific

research and preparation are open to joint information management (Bielenberg et al., 2016).

Every company and the way it deals with its tasks are different, especially if project management

is not seen as a challenge, but increasingly the work of an expert. Project management is a

science, and people can mean it, but project management must be viewed as a temporary

company and built and managed by a professional project manager, including procedures and

procedures. Project promoters are critical to ensuring that environmental sustainability is at the
heart of the project, and four visual perspectives ensure a good understanding of their decisions

and actions. Understanding the sustainability of the environment, regardless of the obstacles that

the project managers seemed to face, is faced with an understanding of the options, a perspective

that further supports the decision of a design policy (Maas et al., 2016).

Research Methodology

The method used during the study is derived, speculation is made about current research,

and at this point the research will be based on a careful examination of my theory. The method is

generally consistent with this study because hypotheses and community relationships determine

the approach to information gathering. The guide method is best suited because research can

examine how environmental sustainability can be achieved through project management

exercises that test research and hypotheses in these areas (Crane et al., 2019). An indicative

research approach has been strengthened in the light of the literature on sustainable

environmental and project management. The information collected in response to this research

site determines the interdependency and how project management can affect environmental

sustainability. By considering an imaginary study on sustainable environmental management, as

recently announced, it is possible to give various tips on what information can be collected and

which technologies can be used for testing (Kerzner, 2017).

Research Method

The impetus for the strategy chosen for the research question is that qualitative research

speaks to information through meetings and methods, including the classification of information

that uses or produces non-numeric numbers. Qualitative research seems to be a deep

understanding of the decisions, mind-sets and actions of the project managers, whilst ecological

sustainability is applied to the project management. The decision to use qualitative research

technology is clear and corresponds to previous scientific decisions (Crane et al., 2019).

Qualitative research technology enables the study of standards recommended in environmental

literature that are viewed by people with different views to reflect different methods of their use.

Possible disadvantages of the chosen policy are the time associated with gathering information

through meetings and gathering abstract information. In addition to political, social and

ecological contrasts, this has various effects on ecological sustainability and project

management, especially on the way employees perceive them in the Middle East (Meredith et al.,

2017). Based on scientific research, previous research has been done using this qualitative

technology, and this policy also takes into account abstract and quantitative research, including

testing. The method of collecting context analyses from different companies enables researchers

to gain deeper insights into the research location (Bielenberg et al., 2016).

The sustainability standards change accordingly depending on the region, consumption

plan and culture of customers and associations. This researches the use of standardised emotions

and further increases the incentive to use context research.

These qualitative studies ensure that there is a pleasant connection between the research

group and the group and the participants. This promotes interviews that enable deep and focused

listening, along with a convincing speech. Every context analysis is specific to contrasts,

processes and systemic problems, and the project management provides every emotional

assessment of the environmental commitments made. This study focuses on delivering results

through various contextual analyses that enable in-depth evaluation and research (Fewings and

Henjewele, 2019).
Ethics

Investments in research are consciously accepted and accepted with approval. Before all

participants take part in the study, all participants are familiarised with the scientific question as

well as the points, reasons and advantages of the planned meeting. The participants are informed

about the structure, timing and methodology. All participants who are greeted are given an

ethical and categorical term in which all mobile information is only disclosed when the member

speaks. This term is written in accordance with the guidelines and guidelines of the University of

Northumbria, Newcastle.
