PRINCIPLE 1
Eagles fly alone at high altitude and not with sparrows or other small birds. No other bird can go
to the height of the eagle. Stay away from sparrows and ravens.
PRINCIPLE 2
Eagles have strong vision. They have the ability to focus on something up to five kilometers away.
When an eagle sites his prey, he narrows his focus on it and set out to get it. No matter the
obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.
Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed.
PRINCIPLE 3
Eagles do not eat dead things. They feed only on fresh prey. Vultures eat dead animals, but eagle
will not.
Be careful with what you feed your eyes and ears with, especially in movies and on TV. Steer clear
of outdated and old information. Always do your research well.
PRINCIPLE 4
Eagles love the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the storm’s win
to lift it higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagles uses the raging storm to lift him
above the
clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the
other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees.
We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them
profitably.
PRINCIPLE 5
The Eagle tests before it trusts. When a female eagle meets a male and they want to mate, she flie
down to earth with the male pursuing her and she picks a twig. She flies back into the air with the
male pursuing her.
Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she lets the twig fall to the ground an
watches it as it falls. The male chases after the twig. The faster it falls, the faster he chases it. He
has to catch it before it
falls to the ground. He then brings it back to the female eagle.
The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a higher altitude and then drops the twig for the male
to chase. This goes on for hours, with the height increasing until the female eagle is assured tha
the male eagle has mastered the art of catching the twig which shows commitment. Then and only
then, will she allow him to mate with her.
Whether in private life or in business, one should test commitment of people intended for
partnership.
PRINCIPLE 6
When ready to lay eggs, the female and male eagle identify a place very high on a cliff where no
predators can reach. The male flies to earth and picks thorns and lays them on the crevice of the
cliff, then flies to earth again to collect twigs which he lays in the intended nest. He flies back to
earth and picks thorns laying them on top of the twigs. He flies back to earth and picks soft gras
to cover the thorns. When this first layering is complete the male eagle runs back to earth an
picks more thorns, lays them on the nest; runs back to get grass it on top of the thorns, then pluck
his feathers to complete the nest. The thorns on the outside of the nest protect it from possible
intruders. Both male and female eagles participate in raising the eagle family. She lays the egg
and protects them; he builds the nest and hunts. During the time of training the young ones to fly,
the mother eagle throws the eaglets out of the nest. Because they are scared, they jump into the
nest again.
Next, she throws them out and then takes off the soft layers of the nest, leaving the thorns bare
When the scared eaglets again jump into the nest, they are pricked by thorns. Shrieking an
bleeding they jump out again this time wondering why the mother and father who love them so
much are torturing them. Next, mother eagle pushes them off the cliff into the air. As they shrie
in fear, father eagle flies out and catches them up on his back before they fall and brings them bac
to the cliff. This goes on for sometime until they start flapping their wings. They get excited at thi
newfound knowledge that they can fly.
The preparation of the nest teaches us to prepare for changes; The preparation for the family
teaches us that active participation of both partners leads to success; The being pricked by the
thorns tells us that sometimes being too comfortable where we are may result into our no
experiencing life, not progressing and not learning at all. The thorns of life come to teach us tha
we need to grow, get out of the nest and live on. We may not know it but the seemingly
comfortable and safe haven may have thorns.
The people who love us do not let us languish in sloth but push us hard to grow and prosper.
Even in their seemingly bad actions they have good intentions for us.
PRINCIPLE 7
When an Eagle grows old, his feathers become weak and cannot take him as fast as he should.
When he feels weak and about to die, he retires to a place far away in the rocks. While there, he
plucks out every feather on his body until he is completely bare. He stays in this hiding place until
he has grown new feathers, then he can come out.
We occasionally need to shed off old habits & items that burden us without adding to our lives.

Dr. Myles is a man with tremendous ability to pick the principles out of the bluring concept
that society reshafled.
This could be one of the reasons God told the Isrealites that eagles were unclean in Lev. 11:13
NIV ‘These are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, the
vulture, the black vulture….”
#4 – It is not proved that the eagle loves storms. It is true however, that they soar and use the
air current. It is possible that during a storm they could use the wind to lift them. But, someone
has fabricated this story without real, factual, scientific proof.
#6 – I love picturing this, but after doing extensive research, I can not find any solid facts or
evidence that this true.
#7 is false as well. “For those of you who have e-mailed me wondering if it’s true that an eagle
goes into seclusion, plucks all of its feathers, sheds its beak and talons, and then renews itself,
is a myth. An eagle’s beak and talons grow continuously, because they are made of keratin, the
same substance as our hair and fingernails. Eagles molt in patches, taking almost half a year to
replace feathers, starting with the head and working downward. Not all feathers are replace
in a given molt. An eagle without feathers, talons, and a beak would die of starvation an
exposure. (www.baldeagleinfo.com/eagle/eagle-myths.html)”
“The PowerPoint presentation circulating the Internet is a myth and metaphor intended to
encourage and strengthen people. Eagles do not go into seclusion, pluck out their feathers,
beak and talons, and then after five months emerge renewed. It’s a myth! An eagle’s beak an
talons grow continuously, because they are made of keratin, the same substance as our hair an
fingernails. Eagles molt in patches, taking almost half a year to replace feathers, starting with
the head and working downward. Not all feathers are replaced in a given molt. An eagle
without feathers, talons, and a beak would die of starvation and exposure.
My purpose for this is not to argue. I am a Christian and I am researching why the Bible
mentions the eagle as much as it does. But in my research, I have found out that many of these
things that not only you, but others, believe is true, is not.
I suggest you research further and maybe look at the websites I sited. It is full of interesting
information. But, do make sure that any sites you look at are real and factual and not jus
something someone wrote without a Bibliography or references.

Thanks for this, curious and concerned. I’ve done a lot of research to verify these ‘eagle
traits’ and came out empty every single time. Perhaps the eagle in the myths refer to some
kind of extinct bird species!

@curious,dont be so much critic.the principle are absolute can re-research about and ensure
you research for all the species then you make deduction.i’m sure u’ll agree
I think sciences are a mere discovery of all the hidden realities of spiritual truth in God’
kingdom.
The God creating the Earth thing is something that even the Bible can not decide on how
it went. There are two versions, and the order is quite varied in them. However again i
is widely accepted that both versions were created during the Babylonian exile of the
Jewish people and were presented as a kind of “f**k you” to the Babylonian gods, which
were the sun and the moon most famously. In the Jewish (Christian and Muslim)
creation myth the Babylonian gods were created in the first and second day, however
the abrahamic god was always there. From there the stories split to tell of the creation o
other things, and the more recognized telling of Adam and Lilith and Eve.

Thanks Curious. Always thought that eagles eat live till i did some research too. Many folk
in church have also been taught so. No disrespect either but rhymes with what Myles talk
about staying away from old outdated information. A large part of this message is.
but the simple explanation of this is that this set of principles are not anything to do with
eagles, they are simply used as an extended metaphor displaying a behavior in the animal
kingdom and translating that into our lives as humans. i personally don’t think this set o
principals should of referenced the eagles because its not animal we identify our selfs with
very well but the point is these are simply a set of basic standards a person would generally
need to be a strong minded and independent person.
but having said this i would wonder why it would be of any important to you as a sel
confessed Christian- because wouldn’t you live your life to how god and the holy bible woul
dictate? its just a thought as an atheists i find it most curious how people work with in
organized religion because i simply am not well educated in that area. but what i do know is it
principals like this that don’t require faith that are often turned to by people out side o
religion.
in conclusion what I’m saying is it shouldn’t matter that the facts are wrong about eagles- the
fact is its a set of standards that people can follow to if they wish to help them be all they can
be. Curious and Concerned on the other hand has their faith in which to steer him
thanks all
any comments would be welcome

The bible states clearly that ” these are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are
detestable: the eagle being the first one (Lev 11:13), are we not then contradicting our Mighty
makers when we use that as an example to try and win souls to Christ as some of us suggests.
Let us not be conformed into the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing o
your mind. Then you be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing an
perfect will.

We are to detest them in the content of food. We are not to eat them. But the bible uses the
eagle as an example of strength just as it uses the ant as a form of wisdom. Please lets’ no
allow legalism to interfere with spiritualism. May God open your understanding to
scripture.

I kind of hope that it is true that an eagle’s beak and talons grow continuously, being made o
keratin, like hair and fingernails, because that makes the renewal process a daily occurance.
Everyday is a new day, and if we don’t like the way things look, we trim off the parts that have
become unbecoming > just like we do when we cut our hair and trim our nails. It’s not a
painful process when done correctly. If we don’t clip our nails properly, though, we do ge
hangnails. Those are painful to remove, but can be avoided. God’s love, grace, mercy, an
compassion help us to make the necessary changes in our lives in order for us to renew our
strength so that we can live a long, satisfied life! Very encouraging!
Also, I know from experience that birds are very much a part of their babies learning to fly.
Once when I was mowing I tried to move a seemingly forsaken baby from the ground so that
wouldn’t mow it over. The mama helped it back into the nest. It was so sweet to watch. Then,
when my husband tried to move a seemingly forsaken baby bird from behind his truck, we
found out that the parents were watching very close by, because they swooped at my husband,
warning him to back off.
Finally, it doesn’t matter whether the eagle “loves” storms or not; the point is, they have the
instinct to take advantage of the God-given ability to rise/soar above the storm.
God’s help is always available to us during stormy times. When we yield to Him, we will soar
far above the enemies attempts to steal, to kill, and to destroy in our lives.

The Weekend of the 24th to the 26th of September 2010. we had a youth camp and our theme
was the renewal of youth like eagles, and i must say it was great, informative and filled with
the holy spirit, for each and every member was willing to start a new chapter in their lives.
I must say these principles have made me regain my long lost confidence, and i will make sure
to keep them vissible for my friends to read, and together we may grow beyond in life!
I am a biologist, and work in eagle country up in Canada. I second every point you’ve made –
Mr. Munroe’s work is inspirational, but it is inspirational fiction.
God’s Creation is beautiful enough without bending, twisting, and distorting the facts an
attempt to improve on the Father’s handiwork.
Many faith communities honour the eagle. It flies higher than most other birds, and can
disappear over the horizon quickly. To ancient people, who moved on foot, or on horseback,
the eagle saw more and moved faster than they ever could. The eagle becomes incredibly
symbolic and important to many faiths – the Judeo-Christians scriptures mention eagles often,
as do North American Absrcinal faith stories, the ancient Egyptian religion, ancient Gree
religion, etc.
God created everything as part of a wonderful web of life. The eagle resonates with our
curious nature as humans. God created everything wonderful and good – we just seem to be
able to remember that better when we see something like an eagle, than, say, a crow.

why is it that some people who dont have ideas always try to criticize others idea. if you have
another info on eagles try and post it else where okay we are bless and inspire by this and for
the record it doesn’t matter the behavior of eagles but what matter most is the lives that are
transform by these principles.

How subhuman are birds/animals if they can positively influence thinking and lifestyles o
humanity? Are we(mortals) not challenged to take care of them? Who can articulate eco-
theology enough to resonate to ears of many who grossly inflict cruelty and abuse to these
creatures? Well done Dr Munroe. I can learn from an eagles behaviour for the betterment of my
life. Do more.

I am afraid to say that Mr Munroe is a great motivator who likes to motivate only those who
are willing to listen. For those who have an urge to argue, it is better for them to join politics.
Maybe they can come up with the better solution in this confused world.

am so sorry for the critics who take no time to give any facts as they claim the facts are wrong ,
i think the right answer if not white then its black , then one should explain and give the fact
that are not articulated rather than give in the article ……..

oh wonderful teaching. I couldnt care less about what’s true or false. The Holy Spirit guides me
through all truth. I receive that teaching whole heartedly. I am now pursuing the Eagle
attributes. I find it very encouraging and I don’t see how it could take me to hell but only
deeper in Christ. God bless us all.

That Is Really Practically Wonderful. Keep Then Coming!
My country, Kenya, where Dr Myles made one of his last missions and moving sermons an
interviews have made great bench mark for any given serious gospel preacher and teacher.
I would like to get connected to those he mentored inorder to keep the fire burning, remain
focused as the eagle and keep networking.
Finally, in my ministry we also conduct leadership seminars and conferences, and though he
has departed to be with God, his tapes and videos are quite relevant in such fora. How can
these mayerials be obtained?

MAY GOD BLESS THE BAHAMAS FAITH MINISTRIES FOREVER
When it rains, most birds head for shelter; The Eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the
rain, starts flying above the clouds.
It wasn’t meant as a metaphor but I immediately saw the metaphor within it so I searched for
other information about the eagle. But this is what I posted this morning.
When it rains, most birds head for shelter; To stay within their comfort zone. The Eagle is the
only bird that, in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the clouds. Be an Eagle and avoi
the chaos. If you must be present in the rain, visualize putting on your rain gear. The chaos i
less likely to permeate.

Being wise in the ways of the world will leave you empty.
Trusting in the ways of God will bring you salvation.
Some men are too smart for faith, examining/researching it away, and that becomes their
ultimate eternal decision.
