Grand Parents Day

A grand Parents day was organized in the Section on Saturday, the 26th of November. In all 210 grandparents
participated with enthusiasm. The children performed for their grandparents. The grandparents played a game
and also a couple of them performed as well!
Inter School Gita Chanting Competition: 2016-17

Continuing the Venture started two years ago, The Inter School Gita Chanting Competition, the same was
organized in the School Auditorium on the 19th of November 2016. Thirteen Schools participated in the event.
The competitors included children from our sister concerns, WIDIA, Yelahanka, Shree Krishnanagar and
Indiranagar and nine other surrounding schools. In all there were 125 participants. The "HH SRI
VIBUDHESHA THEERTHA ROLLING TROPHY" was displayed motivating the schools to perform well
and win it.
An MA in Sanskrit, at the Adarsha Samskutha Mahavidyalaya, Smt Aarathi has been associated with the
Chinmaya Mission for 34 long years, conducting classes, teaching the Bhagavad Gita, Vishnu Sahasranama,
Soundarya Laharia to aspirants has been her zeal. A simple, pleasant person, versatile in conversational Sanskrit
is the Judge for today's contest.
Smt Umashashi too completed her MA at the Adarsha Samskrutha Vidyalaya and has been closely associated
with Smt Aarathi, in all her endeavours. She is a retired officer from the prestigious Canara Bank. Despite her
busy job found time to learn the Gita, really commendable.
Children's Day

The children of the section wore coloured dresses to celebrate the day. A Magic Show was organized as a part
of the children's day celebration to entertain the children. The children enjoyed the show. The children of
Standard 1 of the Primary were invited to view it too. Mr S P Nagendra Prasad thoroughly entertained the
children. It was a fun filled day!
Deepotsava: 2016-17

This was the first event for this term, as Deepavali being an important festival and children had to be informed
of the significance of the festival a deepotsava was organized in the school. The staff and the management
participated by lighting a lamp each. Children were all given hangings and lanterns to display in their houses
and were told to light lamps and not burst crackers as it adds to pollution.
Dassarotsava: 2016-17

This year too, the display of dolls during Dassara was organized in the Preprimary Section with all the children
participating in it. Each child brought their favourite item for display and the Teachers arranged the display
items artistically in the traditional steps format.
The 'Bombemane' was open for viewing for the children and Parents of the section. Display will be on till the
12th of October.
The children of the section were all dressed in Traditional clothes on the 29th of September, the last working
day for the first term. The Section wore a festive look.
This was a wonderful experience as; the whole school was there to witness it. Review of the Management, Staff
of the School, Children and Parents was very encouraging. This was the sixth time in succession such a thing
was organized in the school.
Parent Teacher Meeting 2016-17

An “Induction Meeting”, an interaction and a briefing of the School, the Section, the working pattern of the
Class and the school was done to the new parents of the Nursery class for the year 2016 - 2017 batch. It was
organized on Friday the 20th of May in the Auditorium and was attended by parents of both the sections.
First round Parent Teacher meeting for the Parents of Prep II was organized on the 28th of May for the
Parents of ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Sections. A briefing of the Class, requirements, working pattern of the school,
academics and activities was done for the benefit of the new parents.
Preprimary Graduation Day, March 2016

A Graduation Day was organized for the graduating seniors of the Section – the Prep II ‘A’ ‘B’& ‘C’ in the
School Auditorium on Saturday the 26th of March. The parents of these children were invited to be a part of the
Historic Moment. The children were formally handed over to the Primary Principal Mrs Malathi Prabhakar.
They all received a Certificate and a Memento each from the Preprimary Principal, Mrs Indu Bhashyam.
Gita Jayanthi - December 17th 2015

‘Gita Jayanthi’ was organized in the School quadrangle by the Pre-primary Section on Thursday, the 17th of
December. This year the Children of Prep I, ‘A’& ‘B’, Eighty seven children in all qualified to participate in the
celebration by chanting the 8th Chapter, “Akshraparabrahma Yoga” from memory in tandem, while the children
of Prep II chanted the 14th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, “Gunatriyavibhaga Yoga, from memory, before an
august audience of MLA Sri Ashwath Narayan, Mr Venkatesh Jt. Secretary PPEC SS Nagar and the whole
school. The children were well applauded by all and Sri Ashwath Narayan marveled and appreciated the efforts
of the Children and the Teachers.

The prize winning children from the participating schools of the Gita Fest conducted on 22nd November were
also invited on the Gita Jayanthi Day and the prizes were handed over to them by MLA Sri Ashwath Narayan
adding a crown to the event. The first place was bagged by Vidyasagar Pre School, Second by PPEC Yelahanka
and the third by, PPEC Indiranagar. Prassidhi School, MES Kishora Kendra and WIDIA PPEC were awarded
the consolation prizes.

The winning school was awarded the – Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Rolling Trophy
Gita Fest – November 14th 2015

An inter School Gita chanting competition was organized in the School Auditorium on 14th of November. It
was a pleasant morning as the day was not just a day for the competition but it happened to be CHILDREN’S
DAY too.
In all 12 Schools participated. They included our sister concerns, WIDIA PPEC, Yelahanka, Indiranagar and
Krishnanagar. The other schools are Prasiddhi, Vyalikaval Education Centre, MES Kishore Kendra, Vidya
Mandir, Vidya Sagar nurture, Hymamshu Jyothi Kala Peetha, Sindhi School and MLA School.
The Judges for the Competition were Smt Shobha Vasuki and Smt Latha. An MA in Sanskrit, recently
conferred with a Doctoral degree, Smt Shobha Vasuki, a pleasant person, versatile in conversational Sanskrit,
was the right person. It’s a pride to mention here that, she had been a faculty in the High School Section of our
School. She has conducted several workshops in Conversational Sanskrit in Bangalore and is currently teaching
students doing their MA.
Smt Latha an ardent student of Sandipani Gurukula, a devotee of Krishna, and above all a humble and a simple
person, was the Second Judge. She has been into learning the Gita since 2006 and continues to do so with a
passion.
A Special invitee, Smt Rohini Chakravarthy, an Engineer in Electronics, who had been a lecturer at Christ
College, but as per God’s will took up the divine path and has been educating women and children to the Hindu
Scriptures. Started teaching Shlokas to children on a small scale and has eventually established an Institution,
The Sandipani Gurukula.
The winning school will be receiving a ROLLING Trophy, HH Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Rolling Trophy,
which they will have for a period and return it before the same event next year on the appointed day.
The prizes will be awarded by the president of Udupi Sree Admar Mutt Education Council, HH Sri Vishwapriya
Theertha Swamiji on the Gita Jayanthi Day that is the 17th of December at 9Am.
Gita Jayanthi 12th December 2014

Gita Jayanthi is celebrated as the birthday of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, the day it was revealed to Arjuna by Lord
Krishna himself. A few days after the Jayanthi, a Gita Jayanthi was organized in the School, where the children
of prep I, 94 children in all, chanted the16th Chapter, “Daivasurasampadvibhaga Yoga” from memory in
tandem, while the children of Prep II chanted the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, “Purushothama Yoga
before an august audience of His Holiness Sri Vishwapriya Swamiji, President AMEC, Sri. Prabhakara,
Secretary, Sri. Venkatesh and Sri. Ashok Kumar Joint Secretarys’, Principals of the High School and Primary,
Teachers of the School and all the Students of the School. The school reverberated with the chanting and
created a serene atmosphere. The children and section were well appreciated by His Holiness and one and all.
We are thankful to Smt. Rohini Chakravarthy, Smt. Sunitha and Smt. Lakshmi from Sandipani Gurukul for
teaching The Gita.
Gita Fest

An Inter School Gita Chanting Competition was organized in the School Auditorium on the 22nd of November
2014- another Milestone! Fourteen Schools participated in the event. The competitors included children from
our sister concerns, WIDIA, Yelahanka, Shree Krishnanagar and Indiranagar and nine other surrounding
schools. In all there were 130 participants. The judges for the competition were, Sri H R Chandrashekar, a
versatile orator and above all a person with great passion for the Bhagavad Gita and Smt Jyothi an ardent
student of Sandipani Gurukula. The prize winning children from the participating schools were invited on the
Gita Jayanthi Day and the prizes were handed over to them by His Holiness Sri Swamiji adding a crown to the
event. The first and second place was bagged by PPEC Yelahanka and the third by, MES Kishore Kendra. MLA
Nursery School, Vidyasagar Nurture and PPEC Sri Krishnanagar were awarded the consolation prizes.
Parents Meeting

An “Induction Meeting”, an interaction and a briefing of the School, the Section, the working pattern of the
Class and the school was organized for the new parents of the Nursery class for the year 2015 - 2016 batch. It
was organized on the 20th of May in the Auditorium and was attended by parents of both the sections and also
the new RTE parents.
Periodic meetings are organized with the Parents of the children who are in our care to keep them abreast with
the activities and the academics of the class. The meetings for Prep II and Prep I were as follows:
Prep II - ‘A’, ‘B’ &‘C’-- 30.5.2015, Saturday and Prep I - A’ &‘B’ --- 6.6.2015, Saturday

Graduation Day - 27th March 2015

A Graduation Day was organized for the graduating seniors of the Section – the Prep II ‘A’ & ‘B’ in the School
Auditorium on the 27th of March. The parents of these children were invited to be a part of the Historic
Moment. The children were formally handed over to the Primary Principal. They all received a Certificate and a
Memento each from the Pre-primary Section.
A time when the little Graduates of the Pre Primary enter the world of the Primary! Confident, enthusiastic and
eager, these Graduates tread their path which is competitive and challenging. Like a little Seed that grows into a
mighty Tree, with roots of self-confidence, nurtured and watered well with love and affection and fed with
nutrients of knowledge they are in readiness to take on the world.
