LITERATURE REVIEW

Sustainability and environmental preservations have now become an important drive in

organizational culture, however, the availability of literature on Green HRM and academic work
is limited. Green Recruitment and Selection are one the most important as well as a tough task in
any organization. Firms become very conscious in selecting and retaining the employees who have
the knowledge and are ready to adopt environmental-friendly behaviors at the organizations.
These recruited and selected employees with green competencies actually help the organization to
thrive the behaviors and performances in favor of the environment. Furthermore, Green Training
and Development are also critical practices of any organization. Keeping employees up to date
with the newest trends of greener world aids organizations to remain competitive and sustainable
in the environmentally friendly race of the organization around the globe. Moreover, green
Training is an important factor that helps a firm impose and act on green practices in the workplace.
To motivate employees, to appreciate efforts of them for the implementation of green practices at
the workplace, Green Rewards play a vital role. Several studies have concluded that organizations
that provide different Rewards to their employees in response to their environmental protection
perceived performance have achieved positive environmental performance. These Rewards can be
in the form of praise letters, promotion, career gains, cash, gifts, and bonuses. The concept of CSR
is linked to environmental sustainability. It suggests when an organization thinks about well being
of the environment in which it is operating the CSR is likely to be mentioned. Several studies
indicate that the benefits that companies derive from involving in CSR activities are beyond pure
bottom-line outcomes.
